2017 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program

Published

Hi Fellow Nurses!

Is anyone else anxiously awaiting the 2017 cycle opening?

I have applied several times and praying that 2017 is my year. I'm tier 1 - not faculty and not an NP.

Is anyone else out there?

@Jesstressrn, did the email come from HRSA or BHW address? I only ask because I want to be sure that my account will allow the sender and not send to junk or spam folder.

It came from @hrsa.gov

AH! I'm checking all day too!

@ JessTressrn When was your credit check???

My credit check was May 5th.

How do I know what tier my facility is and what tier has a better chance of getting picked?

@RNbeagle3 The facilities are not tiered. They are scored. If you look at the manual you will note that a facility score >14 and DTI >100% puts you in Tier 1. Tier 2 is a facility score 100%...there are 4 tiers. The best chance to get picked is Tier 1.

Oh ok. Where do I find the score of my facility? Or how do I figure my facility score?

Ok, never mind, I looked it up! Thanks for your help! My facility score is 16 and my dti is 150%

Are these good chances? I had a credit check on 6/5

I am almost like you RN with HPSA score 17 D/I around 160%, i don't think i have much chance this year since only 30% goes to RN's and 160% seems to be a lot lower than others. I was trying to find the stats from last year i thought it was posted but i could not find it.

Have you had a credit check this year? That's what has me hopeful.

Yes in April, I have applied before and got a credit check and no award. I had forgot to add one of my student loans last year so I think so my D/I was lower last year than this year but the award distribution percentage changed, it used to be 50/50 split but now only 30% goes to RN's. I plan to finish my FNP Certificate if I can get into a program, but its hard to get in to online Post MSN FNP Cert programs most programs take full MSN - FNP students first, then if they have room they admit certificate only students.
