2017 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program

Published

Hi Fellow Nurses!

Is anyone else anxiously awaiting the 2017 cycle opening?

I have applied several times and praying that 2017 is my year. I'm tier 1 - not faculty and not an NP.

Is anyone else out there?

I am a RN nurse faculty Tier 2 and got a credit check at the beginning of May.

I am a NP tier 1, no credit check. Seems as though it's all nurse faculty still. I'm giving up hope í ½í¸© It seems as though this year is so different. I'd feel much better if I would have just had a credit check lol give me an ounce of hope.

So, has anyone who is not nurse faculty had a credit check?

Specializes in MSN, RN, PHN, CPHQ.

It seems like perhaps most of the funding could go to Nursing Faculty. However, there is still time-try to stay hopeful everyone!

Only 20% of the funding will go to nurse faculty. I think perhaps they are just working group by group. Don't lose hope!!

per page 10 of the handbook from HRSA the funding is as follows:

Awards Process and Funding Allocations

Funding for the FY 2017 NURSE Corps LRP will be allocated as follows:

 Up to 50 percent will be made available for NPs.

 Up to 20 percent will be made available for nurse faculty.

Among the remaining 30 percent of NURSE Corps LRP funding:

 Up to 15 percent will be made available for Base applicants (RNs and APRNs, excluding NPs)

working at DSHs or public hospitals.

 Up to 15 percent will be made available for Base applicants (RNs and APRNs, excluding NPs)

working at all other types of CSFs

i received a credit check yesterday. am a CRNA and fall in the 15% group of funding. seems like they are working group by group.

Hi Everyone, credit checked 6/5 by credco. RN Tier 1, DTI 205%.

What are your stats?

15, tier 1, 205%

I got a credit check today!!! Isn't it true that last year most (all?) of those who got credit checks ended up getting it, or no? I am an RN at Tier I facility and I think 220% when I checked...

(PS- not faculty or NP)
