Nurse Corps Loan Repayment 2016 Cycle

Published

Hello All,

I am applying for the nurse corps loan repayment program 2016 cycle, I just spoke to a representative who told me the application cycle opens up tomorrow. For those of you who have applied any tips advice etc.? I am very excited about this opportunity because I have an outrageous amount of loans.

I just received a response in my portal that said my funds would be deposited Dec 1st. Isn't that more than 90 days???

.

Maybe 90 "business days"? ;-/

OK so if I go on to get my bachelors I will be starting around (assuming) 55k salary and 55K in student debt from my BSN

BUT.....

I will also have 65k from my other bachelors degree and probably around another 20K from loans to cover housing, food, expenses etc.

So around 140K in total debt to 55k-60k salary....

Do they look at "overall" debt or just from BSN debt? Also, do many people get denied on their first try in applying?

I am horrified that I will not be able to go to nursing school because it would be too big of a risk to just assume I will get the loan corps repayment program award...Or I will take the plunge then i will be in doctor sized debt making a nurses salary for the rest of my life.

I figured things would get a BIT less stressful whenever I was accepted to a few schools! Boy, was I wrong! lol

Sent you a PM. I had researched that extensively before returning for mine:)

Hi Riaeg, I sent you a PM. Had a few questions. Thanks.

FYI for those looking for lump sum deposits one of my colleagues received her deposit today, her 90 days will be tomorrow.

What is your debt to income percentage? I submitted mine yesterday I know the deadline isn't until February 25, but I wanted to make sure it was submitted ASAP. My facilities score is 21 and me debt to income percentage is 260%. So I'm really hoping I get it.

Do you have any additional insight I'm in my last semester due to graduate in May and eager to learn about this program because I'm completing my 2nd bachelors and really need help?

I am in the NHSC LRP program which pays a lump sum of $50k. Just curious if any of those participants on this site have received their funds? My contract start date was Sept 1st. Thank you!!

I'm new to this thread and would like to know any info about the program before googling it; I'll graduate in May and looking for help with my student loans!

Just did it manually, whew what a process, once i figured out what was really being asked, and uploading supporting docs it went fast, it was just complicated when you have consolidated loans that have been consolidated multiple times, i had to think really hard!! If anyone has any questions about the manual process let me know.

Good Luck, now we wait, 5 months, look for a credit check, then wait for the finalist email !!

Was the application process for NCLR difficult, I want to apply?

You are sooooo lucky to be almost done with your loans I am praying I get into this program because I have an astronomical amount of student loans

I do too; this is my first day on this thread and eager to learn as much as possible. I have debt for 2 degrees who will graduate in May with my BSN and moving from New Orleans to Atlanta.

Do they accept all the loans funded to me towards school. What I really mean is.... I have some federal loans under my name and I also have another larger loan pulled out under my mother's name. My loans alone couldn't help me through school so she helped me out. I really need help with the loan borrowed under my mother's because it's too overwelling for her and I and are actually larger than the ones under my name. Can someone advise me?

Could someone please post the link to all the medically underserved areas. I could not seem to find it on the nurse corps website
