Hello All,

I am applying for the nurse corps loan repayment program 2016 cycle, I just spoke to a representative who told me the application cycle opens up tomorrow. For those of you who have applied any tips advice etc.? I am very excited about this opportunity because I have an outrageous amount of loans.

I am getting excited now! I am a little confused, do they disburse payments monthly or as a lump sum. For those of you that have received your payments did your portal every change to "submitted" before you received your deposit?

I received my first deposit yesterday. I will be getting monthly installments. The payment status said "processed" before and after the first deposit was made.

I am in the NHSC LRP program which pays a lump sum of $50k. Just curious if any of those participants on this site have received their funds? My contract start date was Sept 1st. Thank you!!

I am also in the LRP program with a contract start date of 9/1. I have not received my lump sum yet.

I have not received mine either. Yesterday one of my coworkers told me that she spoke with a representative from NHSC last week and he stated that it should be around the first of the month (November). She told me that she will expect hers around the 8th because her agreement date was August 8.

Wow! Apparently they are waiting the full 90 days. My colleague said that when she was awarded last year, she received her funds about 60 days into her contract. She was surprised that I had not received anything yet.
