Nurse Corps Loan Repayment 2016 Cycle

Published

Hello All,

I am applying for the nurse corps loan repayment program 2016 cycle, I just spoke to a representative who told me the application cycle opens up tomorrow. For those of you who have applied any tips advice etc.? I am very excited about this opportunity because I have an outrageous amount of loans.

First time, crossing my fingers.

Has anyone had a credit check yet? I checked on Credit Karma, but nothing yet.

No credit check or status change yet but regularly checking. I think credit karma app updates once a week? Not really sure if time of application submission is a factor for the order in which they process them, as discussed in the threads from previous application cycles, but I'll be the 1st to share my info for future reference (should I be lucky enough to make it into the running) as done by previous applicants in the other NCLRP threads...1st time applying, submitted my application 1/31, fall into the 30% category (non-NP, non-faculty), score is 14 and d/I ratio is 140%... And really hoping I didn't screw up my application since I had to manually enter loan info since I have additional loans from a previous non-nursing degree that do not qualify. Wishing everyone the best of luck! :)

I'm an NP and it's my first time applying. Does anyone know if they 1. look at you and your spouse's income? and 2. if not, do they look at your full-time job income only? I work on the side as an instructor and this would take me from a Tier 1 to a Tier 2...

I am also a NP and this is also my 1st time applying. I was also curious if they look at your spouses income... They didn't ask for our W-2s so I don't know how they would have that info, right?

I just got a credit check 4/19/2016, it showed up as Credco, I then called Credco and they told me they are a 3rd party company others hire, and you can ask them what company, they told me HRSA NELRP.

I assume everyone gets a credit check I have no idea?

I am almost 100% sure they only go by your income.

I haven't received a credit check yet but I will be looking out for Credco, Is this your first time applying?

No and it was a different company for my previous application.

Thanks for the update. Has your application status changed to anything other than Under Review since the credit check?

Hello everyone. I've been following this thread - just wanted to say that I also had a credit check from Credco on my credit karma report 4/19. My online portal status has not changed from "under review". Hope this is a good sign.
