Nurse Corps Loan Repayment 2016 Cycle

Published

Hello All,

I am applying for the nurse corps loan repayment program 2016 cycle, I just spoke to a representative who told me the application cycle opens up tomorrow. For those of you who have applied any tips advice etc.? I am very excited about this opportunity because I have an outrageous amount of loans.

It means I got my finalist award and signed the contract. I would not worry about the countersign, never heard of someone not getting it if they got the finalist award notice. It was enough to worry about getting the approval I am not going to hang myself out to dry about the countersign. I believe it will happen.

I checked the portal several times a day, because saw on here that several did not receive an e-mail. After I had signed the contract, I checked my e-mail and a letter from them was there also.

Went to the portal still says under review, however, if you pull the actual document up that shows your electronic signature, a reviewer signed mine yesterday, not sure what the next step is but there is progress. This is going to be such a blessing for me. I accepted my award on August 10 if that helps any one still sitting in limbo.

You will get your welcome letter next with your repayment details.

it seems to me they are probably countersigning nurse practitioners first.

I had a credit check by Credco yesterday... don't know what that means? This is so hard waiting~!

thats a good sign! it probably means you are being considered!

I thought about that last night... that seems to be about right. I guess I need to take a chill pill and just wait. Lol

Just Checked NO change still Under Review, i just logged into my student loans i actually have am 150% D/I, RN HPSA 17. But did work overtime last year so not sure if they use the amount from my tax return or just the amount of my Salary that they obtained from the employment verification. I had an extra 10k of overtime, but that is not something i can count on. My loan amount was higher than i thought. So i have no idea, i saw an RN get awarded with 160%. But so far that is the least i think.

Still under review RN 140%isth hpsa 17.

wow another credit check that is interesting. Did you get one in April?

when they do your employement verification, your employer puts in your base pay. i do not believe overtime is factored into your income.

thank for the clarification, Well then based on that and what i see on my student loan portal my D/I is more like 150% or more RN, HPSA 17, still under review. I have very little hope left years past it seems all awards have gone out by now. but then they still have countersigns to go also, so that gives me a little hope. i need a drink and to stop obsessing!!

on 9/1, someone of this forum was 156% and got approved so dont give up hope!

What I don't understand about this program is that if it was developed to rectify shortages why is there so much competition? I'm thinking that a medical professional would not go unless there was this incentive? Also does anyone know how to get hired at these places? Do they require years of experience (if a person has years of experience they probably made a pretty good dent in their school loans). Are they looking for the BEST most experienced professional to fill this shortage? Or is it a true shortage? I think the industry is going through a hiring shortage not a real shortage.
