I would like to call but i know that is pointless, the grant states historically they have the funds for those mostly in Tier 1, and some NP's in Tier 2 even. But i just don't see very many NP's or RN's or even faculty getting awarded and most on here have a high D/I and High HPSA's even though the HPSA is not as important this year as before. Which is odd to me because many of us stay in jobs that have a high HPSA, when in all reality really i just need more loans I guess. There are just so few being awarded unless there are just act many that have >250%.

In FY 2015, the NURSE Corps Loan Repayment Program:

- received more than 6,000 eligible applications,

- made approximately 600 initial awards to RNs and advanced practice registered nurses working at Critical Shortage Facilities and

- gave out more than 1,110 initial awards to nurse faculty working at eligible schools of nursing, awarding a total of $39.7 million.

95 percent of those awards were made to RNs and advanced practice registered nurses working in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) with scores of 14 or higher.

That makes me think if you are in Tier 1 you have a good chance but i just don't see very many getting awarded this year.

me too!

Any countersigns yet?

Not yet....last Wednesday was 3 weeks since I accepted. Still holding out hope that they are just waiting until all of us offered an award in all 3 groups to accept beforr countersigning.... my D/I is 181%...Nursing faculty in a school with over 54% pell grants which puts me in tier 1. It would be such a blessing so I am holding out hope!! Has anyone else had a repeat credit check or emplyment verification or anything? When absolutely nothing else is happening I get even more nervous!!

I havent had another credit check nor employmentioned verification. . I'm holding out

Fingers and toes crossed!!

I havent had another credit check nor employmentioned verification. . I'm holding out

I haven't either

Thank you everyone for posting. I got my email at 7pm Saturday saying I was a finalist. I had checked earlier in the day and was still under review. I'm an NP at an HIV Clinic attached to a disproportionate share hospital. The clinic itself doesn't have a HPSA assigned, however other areas of our hospital that do have HPSAs assigned are greater than 14 (Dental, Mental Health, and our women's health clinic all have scores >14)-- the majority of my patients are also accessing care in those areas too. My D/I is ~150%.

Have any other NPs who are finalists read the contract? Mine says it's an RN contract. I'm assuming since all advanced practice nurses applying are still RNs-- this is why they use the same contract. But I just wanted to check if anyone else got a different contract (just want to be sure they won't tell me the contract is only good for RN roles vs. NP roles. I know this seems like a silly worry-- I will call them Monday to check-- but wanted to see what everyone else has received.) thank you everyone and good luck!!

Wow, I got my email last night at 7PM, too! I was really starting to lose hope, so was very happily surprised. Signed everything this AM. It's been a long wait to get to this point, so I suppose I'm OK waiting a bit longer for the countersign, but it is indeed nerve-wracking!

FYI, I too am an NP and my contract was for RN. I assumed it was the same basic contract for both NPs and RNs, which is why it didn't specify.
