Nurse Corps Loan Repayment 2016 Cycle

Published

Hello All,

I am applying for the nurse corps loan repayment program 2016 cycle, I just spoke to a representative who told me the application cycle opens up tomorrow. For those of you who have applied any tips advice etc.? I am very excited about this opportunity because I have an outrageous amount of loans.

Also....waiting. "Under Review" DTI around 200%. I really dont know my hospital score. Im just gonna wait. I know that people in the past have been awarded that work there. I just started NP also... so hoping this works out. Good luck to all!

Still "Under Review" and the suspense is killing me! I only applied for the NHSC repayment. Now I wish I would have applied for NurseCorps as well. If you don't mind me asking, what made everyone here decide on the Nurse Corps instead of NHSC?

Specializes in Utilization Review.

I was wondering also, I am not an NP yet so that is why i was not able to, but i am going to return and get my FNP certificate, it says its 50K so i don't know if the NELRP is more money for some. i think some individuals applied for both, but i am curious to know the options for when i do finish my FNP Cert.

I don't know if my site is available for the NHSC.

Anyone know how long it takes to get countersigned / does everyone that has been notified get countersigned?

Me too. I didn't even *know* about the Nurse Corps Loan Repayment, but really wish I had. My application for the NHSC LRP is still under review as well. I'm assuming I won't get it at this point, but still trying to be optimistic.

I applied for both NHSC LRP and Nurse corps (I am an NP). I have been religiously checking twice per day for the last month. I checked this morning and am a finalist for the LRP. I never received an email. I know its obsessive, but check frequently!

No word yet on NELRP, hoping that the NHSC LRP will be a better fit once i get my FNP certificate. My site is not approved when i search for NHSC but i assume i am able to get it approved the same way as I did for the NELRP.

RN - 140% D/I HPSA 17. don't see very many RN's getting awarded and not any under 140%.

I just received my acceptance e-mal from NHSC this morning!! I immediately submitted my bank account info and acceptance of the award. The e-mail said it still needs to go under "Final Review" but awards would go out no later than Sept. 30th. Does anyone know how long it "really" takes to get the funds deposited? I am over the moon excited about all of this!!

If you dont mind me asking, what was your Tier and DTI ratio

Mtorgerson... Congrats! Are you a tier 1 NP? What was your DTI?

In the LRP there are no tiers. But I am technically a tier one in nurse corps (which I still haven't heard back.) My score is 17 and my debt to income ratio was about 150%. My coworker got selected too with a much smaller ratio. So if you are and NP and have applied there may still be hope!

Specializes in emergency.

I'm BSN/RN, Tier 1, score 18, DTI 150%(ish?). Haven't heard anything yet, but feeling a little disheartened having now found out that other RNs are getting word... :nailbiting:
