Hello All,
I am applying for the nurse corps loan repayment program 2016 cycle, I just spoke to a representative who told me the application cycle opens up tomorrow. For those of you who have applied any tips advice etc.? I am very excited about this opportunity because I have an outrageous amount of loans.
Nope still under review, I do believe that to receive the award you will 100% have to have a credit check, but that check does NOT guarantee the award. I guess it just eliminates those with Applicants will be deemed ineligible if they:
Not sure what else a credit report will show, I do know some one who received the award that had an old foreclosure. Who knows!!
Just know it is s a step towards the next step.
So I just signed up with credit karma and it says I had a credit inquiry 4/19 from Credco. Yay!!! I was worried because my other credit monitoring did not show any inquiries from credco but I figured out it's because they only monitor Transunion not Experian. So for those of you who have not gotten a credit check from credco try credit karma it may show up thanks everyone I never would've checked if it weren't for you all. Let's stay positive and keep each other updated
How sure are we that it goes by first come first serve. I've been told it does not matter when you applied from some, while others are almost positive that later applicants are the individuals who were not rewarded. After reading last years' thread it seems to me that lots of NPs where rewarded but there is no mention of if they applied early or if they applied late.

I submitted my application the day before it was due and had a credit inquiry on 4/19.

I do know preference is given to faculty teaching the "disadvantaged" and NPs serving in primary care shortage areas. My facility score is a 17 and my DTI is over 200%.
