Nurse Corps Loan Repayment 2016 Cycle

Hello All,

I am applying for the nurse corps loan repayment program 2016 cycle, I just spoke to a representative who told me the application cycle opens up tomorrow. For those of you who have applied any tips advice etc.? I am very excited about this opportunity because I have an outrageous amount of loans.

Nurse Faculty Tier 2 first time applicant-have a credit check as well from April 19, 2016. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Hmm... why wouldn't it be?

I don't know that's why I am asking. This is my first time applying and don't know all of the ins and outs.

Does anyone know when credit checks were done last year?

I am assuming that not everyone who has applied or is applying is a member of this forum, so I think our answers will be limited and biased unfortunately. Let's hope for the best. From what I can account of the responses thus far is that there are 3 or 4 people who are applying are NPs, NAs, faculty, and also members of this forum. I know there were several of us who did a credit check from Credco and others who have not as of the past week. I know I have not heard anything further from HRSA, but not sure about the others. Let's keep each other abreast of any new email communications/notifications.

My credit check from last year was on March 26th. This year was April 19th. As someone mentioned before, just because you get a credit check does not mean you will get the loan. It's just a plus and all you can do is hope you get to the next step. Last year the awards I believe started a little later than the previous year. You can look up the forum from 2015. I don't think any of us will hear anything until at least June but hopefully May.

Last year I spent hours looking into these forums. If you really want to find out, look into the 2014 and 2015 forums and you'll see. I can guarantee you that if you didn't have your credit checked you're basically out.
