Nurse Corps Loan Repayment 2016 Cycle

Hello All,

I am applying for the nurse corps loan repayment program 2016 cycle, I just spoke to a representative who told me the application cycle opens up tomorrow. For those of you who have applied any tips advice etc.? I am very excited about this opportunity because I have an outrageous amount of loans.

I am able to read the program guidance and understand where the preference is given. My question was about whether anyone knew if they still separate tiers in regards to site specifications (like in the past) or if it is only by HPSA scores and DTI.

Has anyone heard anything? I know in the past, a lot of people heard during May. Last year, people didn't start getting notifications until July. This waiting game is so stressful.

They've changed it this year strictly to HPSA and DTI. If I recall correctly, last year people were hearing back the first couple of weeks in June. Then a huge wave of people heard back in July. However, in 2014 I believe some people heard back in the last week of May.

Hopefully we all start hearing back soon. The waiting is excruciating.

I did get another Credco credit inquiry yesterday. I don't know what this means if anything.

Im surprised no one has heard a response yet. I also understand that not all 5000+applicants belong to this forum (if even close) so therefore it is not a reliable source to determine if they have or have not started to notify potential award recipients. It only seems like a handful of applicants belong to or reply to this thread.

I'm also surprised at not one person following this thread has heard or anyone they know. Hopefully we will hear soon.
