Hi
I am looking into applying for the nurse corp loan repayment this coming year...any tips/advice/suggestions on the application process??? I am a newer Family Nurse Practitioner in Ga. Our score is only 13 this year and my debt to income ratio is 186%, placing me in tier 2. I see most of the awards went to the tier 1 applicants due to the funds. I just saw the webinar and noticed that 91% went to tier 1 last year and 2013 83% went to tier 1. My hopes are not that high....but I thought I would apply and wish for the best. I could use the additional funds for my student loans.
Tips will be greatly appreciated from my fellow nurses
Thanks
Hi,
I finally decided to call and ask if they started the award process and the representative said they haven't sent anything out as of now. He mentioned that it will probably be mid July before they start with the initial awards. So I hope that eases us for a little while. If anyone hears anything different...please post. It will be greatly appreciated
I called yesterday morning and they said that they are already giving out awards and they will continue to until no later than September 30th. They also said it just depends on when they get to your e-mail info as to how early or late they will send you an e-mail. She also told me that my status will say Under Review even if they send out the e-mail, and that we should watch for the e-mail to be sent. Good luck everyone! Please update us on any info you hear.
I was reading some of the threads from years passed and got discouraged. A lot of people are saying a GPA of less than 3.5 is considered low, and let's just say my GPA isn't exactly a 3.5. I'm hoping for some mercy, but I'm worried because I haven't heard anything yet. Good luck to everyone.

Hi, Mine still says "Under Review" as well. When I log into the portal, I can see my e-mail address in the upper right corner. I bet it will be the end of July before they start announcing who has made the final cut. I am a nurse faculty member with a DNP. Any other faculty members out there? Hope this helps!
