Getting an early start on the support group thread for the August 4465 class.
I heard it's second only to Research in terms of horror level...though having just survived Research, I'm optimistic about this one--it can only be better than Research was.
Is it horrible that I have somehow rationalized that my grade thus far is good enough to slack off this week? Especially knowing that next week will an easy grade so long as I pass the FEMA stuff?
Nope. I'm pretty much doing the same thing. I'm taking TNCC this weekend so I've got more than I need on my plate right now. I'm pretty sure I can do half hearted job and get a high B. I'm borderline for an A, so I hate to do it but my resources for this have been so limited.
Not to mention there were NO, and I do mean NO community health services in the area I covered. Infection control at the hospital (which is technically outside my area by a couple blocks) is the best I could do. I'm looking at the requirements for full points, and they seem to want us to reference a lot, but a lot of these places don't have websites. I can't help it that they don't, which is a little frustrating.
And Meriwhen, that is awesome!!
Goodbye week 4 assignment! Glad that writing about my community is OVER! I did learn some interesting facts and realized that my small town isn't as lame as I thought it was. Only 2 quizzes left and then onto Assessment However, glad to be done with the stressful parts of this class and to have a break for about 2 weeks (already did FEMA - not bad at all.) By stressful, I mean time consuming and monotonous. But like Quest said, the class is doable. You just need lots of writing time.
Working on the paper now. I wasn't cancelled today (I was half-hoping I would be) and there was no downtime...guess the code that was called 5 minutes after getting out of report was an indication of what the day was going to be like. At least I got a lot of it done during the week--I'm adding the interview stuff in today.
To those who didn't complete the FEMA yet: definitely don't wait until the last minute to do it.
Warning, rant: It's a little annoying that this is due at 0800 Wednesday. Considering the processing time, if you do your work week to week, it's barely enough time. Or it might not be. It should at least be by 2359. And there's no real reason it can't be Saturday, they're checking off certificate scans, there's not anything to grade.
I realize some of it's me. I'm totally burned out taking these classes and juggling work, and cannot get my stuff together it seems like. But they also seem so inconsiderate at times. This class has been especially bad about poor communication and timing (interview during a federal holiday week?).
I know I thought it was weird that it is due on Wednesday. It is not like they have a lot of grading to do this week. It could be due on Friday.
I wish I could get access to the quiz in Holistic Health today. If I could, I would be done with both classes. I just have to finish up the week 5 assignment and I am done. I feel like so many of the questions they want you to answer in these papers are so redundant. It is hard enough for me to come up with an answer that is at least one paragraph, but when the next two questions are basically the same question reworded it makes me want to bang my head on my desk.

I just turned in week 4. I completed the FEMA certificate during our break week before the class started. I had done all of the quizes by week 3 because they were so easy (read the tips, most of the answers are there). I think the assignments were a bit in depth, but when I couldn't find information I stated that and no points were taken off. Overall, I think that this class was very doable. Good luck to everyone!
