Hello everyone!
I am creating this for anyone who has been accepted to Nova's ABSN Winter program. I was accepted and I'm excited to meet/help anyone applying to the program as well.

Hello and congratulations! I do not believe there is a facebook page for 2021 yet. There was one for the Fall 2020.

@annamarie_r Hi! I plan to apply for Winter 2021 this week. (I'm starting to get nervous seeing how many students were deferred from the Fall, and just how many people have already applied in general LOL) I was hoping to get your opinion on the interview process, orientation experience, how the Kaplan was.
I attended the Nova Zoom Orientation for both the Fort Myers and Miami locations. The Kaplan Prep Book was recommended by the Fort Myers director. Was wondering if you used anything to study/prep?

Any advice for the interview? Do you remember any of the questions that they asked?
Also how is everyone studying for the Kaplan?
@amsams Just wanted to say good luck! I plan on applying to the WT program. Look forward to hearing how your experience goes! Sending positive vibes your way ? I can only imagine how nervous you are LOL
Hi everyone! I just decided to apply to this program, well pretty much to nursing in general as I am switching from PA to RN. I am still doing research on the school and realize they requiere human and growth developmental I think, but I have only taken development psychology (DEP1004) in the past and I am wondering if it is the same class! Also do you know how many people apply to this program and how many get accepted ? Do you think a 3.2 GPA is enough?.
Thank you so much in advance
@FVC search "Transfer Evaluation Services NSU" in Google and it'll bring you over to Nova's website where you can search the course equivalence. You'll have to select the school the credit is from and it'll show if it is the same. My statistics course did not transfer over to Nova (it did for all other programs I applied to) and I had to retake it.
As far as GPA, I think that's a good GPA, however they look at your Science GPA as well (when I interviewed, my science GPA was the only thing that was brought up, not my overall). I would highly suggest you attend one of their virtual open houses so you can have all your questions answered. It was very helpful for me.

I’m not sure if this is the case for everyone who “deferred”, but I was fully admitted for Fall about 3 days before the semester actually started. There was just so much logistic-type things to worry about getting done, and I didn’t want to worry about that stuff when I actually started school. I was the one who decided to defer my admission, they didn’t defer me. I applied on the deadline date because I didn’t know about the program previously. Once they received all my application items, the process moved pretty quickly.
I did not do the orientation because I was admitted so late, so I can’t really speak to that. Once they told me I was interview eligible, someone called me to schedule the interview. It was 20-30 minutes and I had mine with the program director, Dr. Paul Victor. I was super nervous, but she is SO nice and easy to talk to. It was a great interview experience. She didn’t just rapid fire a bunch of questions, she seemed genuinely interested in my responses. Be prepared for general interview questions like why you chose nursing, strengths/weaknesses, and what some of your goals are. Think of one or two questions to ask at the end that are appropriate for an interviewer, not something like “what are clinicals like”.
Lastly, I did VERY minimal test prep for the Kaplan. I googled something like “free Kaplan nursing entrance test questions”. There was one decent site with a bank of questions for each subject. There are also some helpful Youtube videos to watch about the Kaplan from this year. I took the TEAS and the HESI and did well without studying, so I didn’t want to spend money on a book. The writing, reading, and math are generally easy. The science is pretty hard only because it asks one or two very specific questions about each system of the body. There’s no good way to study for the science besides reading an entire A&P book, which is unrealistic. Apparently average scores are VERY low for science, so I wouldn’t stress about it. I spoke to someone at nova and they told me there is no “minimum” score required, they just want to see where you’re at.
This is all me speaking from personal experience, so the experience of others might be different. I’m sorry this was so long, but I hope it was at least a little helpful!

My mom sent me a screenshot of a page that someone had created, but I literally could not find it. I’m not sure if it was deleted. Should I make another one now?
@annamarie_r Yes! You should create one if you have the time to manage it ? Let us know so we can join. Just make sure you title it with Fort Myers and Winter 2021 in it so it's easy to find.
@annamarie_r yes, it was really easy to find and I sent a request
@Subcutaneous YAY! See I told you to be patient. I'm so happy for you. Keep us posted.
