Hello perspective nursing classmates! Applying to any nursing program is nerve wrecking but I'm hoping this thread will allows us to help each other and support one another during this difficult process. Some of us have been through this more than once; hopefully it will be the last. I want to wish all of us the best of luck!
I have been so focused with this summer term (15 credits!) I haven't even done any financial aid forms yet. I also need to do the background check and my immunizations. Have any of you started on any of these? I finish my finals this week on Saturday. So Monday 8-9-10, I plan on starting to submit everything. I did pay all my fees immediately and send my enroll form. I'm just wondering If I'm super behind?
Hey giggles I hope you did good on your classes! I started the background check but it looks like it hasn't been sent yet because I didn't complete my immunizations. I guess you have to complete both to send it off. As for financial aid I personally went to the school to hand in documents that they needed like the verfication form and income tax documents. I also handed in the residency form but I think I have to bring in more documents like my id, voters card, etc to prove that I reside in Florida. There's a lot of things we have to get done and Im trying to get them out of the way before we start the program in January.
furturenutrire,
I haven't paid my full 1000.00 yet only my 500.00 acceptance fee. I already completed my financial aid and it has been awarded. I as well applied for my loans and they were approved = ). my status still shows as out of state, they told me that they should update that soon. I started my background check but I am pending my immunization to finalize my file. = ) hope that helps.
Hey karina do you think that if someone received financial aid from another school they will receive it at another? Im still waiting to get awarded and I did my financial aid around March or April. I talked to someone today and they said I should get awarded sometime in the upcoming weeks. I paid the full deposit fee and Im in the same boat as you when it comes to the background check and immunizations file. Did you have to do the MPN on studentloans.gov too?
futurenutrire,
That I know of yes, as long as your not in two schools at the same time. For instance you can attend MDC in the fall and transfer to Nova in the winter. Novas Financial aid office will request for you to have a form filled out by MDC stating how much financial you have been awarded and if you have any loans so that they won't overlap. Financial aid is awarded on a yearly basis so depending on what you have been awarded already for that year is what you would get.
if you're not attending no schools in the fall then must likely you will have financial aid roll over for ur summer term.
That's what Nova explained to me but everytime you call you know it's a different story so call just to verify. and yes I had to complete the MPN and an entrance counseling for loans since it was my first time ever borrowing.
Hope this helped = )
Karina= if you don't mind me asking, where did you borrow money from and how much. I started the application process for sallie mae and wells fargo but I'm not sure how much to ask for. I'm still waiting to hear back regarding my NSU state aid but I know I won't qualify for anything; not married, not over 24, don't have children, etc. Not having the Baptist scholars is really bad...
I have completed my background certification but for magnus I don't know how to upload my titers onto my account. As anyone had any luck? Are we suppose to just fax or mail our records to the company?
