Hello perspective nursing classmates! Applying to any nursing program is nerve wrecking but I'm hoping this thread will allows us to help each other and support one another during this difficult process. Some of us have been through this more than once; hopefully it will be the last. I want to wish all of us the best of luck! :nurse:

Question. I submitted my immunizations a couple weeks ago, and it still says pending approval. Did it take that long to approve for any of u?

I got my financial aid award but my grants plus loans does not cover my entire tution at all. I asked for a higher loan amount but they said they couldnt and that I needed to do the Parent PLUS loan. Has anyone else had this problem? I am thinking of just taking out a private loan but I dont know which is a good one.

The same thing happened to me, I didn't have enough money to pay for my tuition and fees. I applied for a parent plus loan and since my mother has a really bad credit history they denied her the loan and gave me $2000 more per semester for the unsub loan. The process was really fast, less than 3 weeks

just got my aid and i got all the funds to cover winter and summer term!!!!!what a big relief

Thats awesome lucky you! I am going cazy comparing diff loans . I hate that financial aid thinks that since i worked all of last yr fulltime that i will continue to do so and be able to pay for skool. And they think since I live with my parents they r gonna help me pay for skool. I called aid office but all they really tell me is to take out a loan. This is so fustrating

@furturenurse i have loans too but yea!! and ely were u able to get anygrants at all? are they giving you the sub and unsub loan. if you are under 24 then u still considered a dependant and with nova u should get 3500 for unsub loan and 2750 for the substadize loan. if u not getting that much then you can apply for the parent plus loan.. and if ur parent is denied u should definitely get the amount i messioned. that alone adds up to 6250.

I did get grants but it all totaled up to 2,412. and i was able to get 1,750 for sub loan and 1,000 for unsub loan.

That's awesome jani. Where do I apply for a loan? How do I know If I need a loan if I haven't got any fin aid?

@ely if ur parent files fr the parent plus loan do u know if they will get denied? if so the amount of ur sub/unsub will increase and that should cover ur cost at least!! sometimes u have to do the research urself becuz they give alot of dead end answers!!! before i was award they told me i had reach my limit with loans that was for two weeks straight! and when i went on to the nova sign i read about my options and that when my limit got increased
