**repost**
hey guys,
i have some info you might find useful
so when you log into your sharklink account under the student tab if you click on course information under the records and academics section. then follow these steps you can view our course offerings for winter 2011.
1. search by term = winter 2011 then click submit
2. under subject pick the prefix of the course (example phs4904; prefix=phs)
3. under course title pick the course # (example phs4904; course #=4904)
4. click on search
5. there you should see the class offerings and times (all campus will show up so make sure to read the levels and locations)
repeat these steps for phs4904, nur3000, nur3005 & nur3160 ß these are the courses for our first semester
it looks like at the davie campus we will have fridays off for certain schedules that they pick for us. (well at least free from classes but i am sure there’s other things we have to get done like study and community service
so far only the main campus has times for the first set of classes all other campuses haven’t posted up times and dates.
hope this helps a little i am sure if you guys keep following up the times for all options will soon open up; since today was the deadline for winter application they will begin finalizing everything soon. as per our adviser a.o their first meeting in reference to the orientation page update was on 9/28/2010, so we should soon be receiving a lot more concrete information in reference to our class. = )
guys if you ever have any questions do not hesitate to email me if i have an answer i do not mind sharing the answers.
the above at least gives us a small outlook as to what our schedules will look like and as far as for the davie campus it’s not looking to bad.

lalexa= a lot of us had applied to fall of 2010 and due to x reasons we were told by nova to defer our applications to the winter term of 2011 and we would have preference over other students (of course we still needed to have the gpa and all the above to be considered). i'll present to you my case. i had applied in april of 2010 for the fall term of 2010 with a 3.4 gpa from fiu. my science gpa is a 3.7. on my application, i presented my bls certification along with the fact that i was a cna (certified nursing assistant). in july i was told to defer my application for the winter term. then, i got accepted for the winter term in july-maybe about 2 or 3 days from deferring my application. it honestly was a very long, emotionally draining process for all those who had to defer. most of us had waited for about 4-5 months without knowing if we were going to get accepted and then nova tells us to defer our application for the winter term. i believe i speak for most of us when i say we are very grateful we have been given this opportunity despite of what may have happened the past. however, there have been some students who have gotten accepted who were not deferred students. those students just applied really early. nova is now doing this "first come, first serve" due to limited amount of space and high volume of applicants. therefore, the best advice is apply as soon as you can for the term you want becuase space is limited and the competion is fierce. however, it seems has if you have applied early and are in good standing. its now all about the waiting game. i really wish you the best of luck and ill keep you in my prayers. i hope this information was helpful.:)
I just came across this blog! Thanks for everyones post . I have found all the insight about NOVA useful. I applied to Nova in February 2010 and i'm still waiting for a response. I originally applied for Fall 2010 but was deferred for January, my file is complete and I have sent so many emails to A.O. Its already past the deadline date for the entering class of Winter 2011. Is there anybody in the same situation as I? I don't understand whats taking so long for a decision.
giggles-thanks so much for the info! I had no idea that NOVA was first-come, first-serve. I also didn't know that I could attach my CNA License along with my application. I hope to still get in for January. However, if they do defer my application to next fall, I would not be disappointed, atleast I would have a spot!
hey guys Im new to this blogg as well and I had no idea it was a first come first serve sort of thing with Nova either. I am also waiting to hear back from them and they have told me to wait until the end of actober as well. I hope all goes well but if my app is deferred until august I wouldnt mine either since I have only like 3 classes to finish my AA. I would just spend the extra semester doing that. Either way I really hope we all hear something soon. Also getting in for August would mean a chance to get apply for the baptist scholarship.
okay guys,
so here is some useful info based on my admissions so that those who have not been admitted know what to expect
these are the winter 2011 term fees;
description
charge
nsu stu svcs fee
$250.00
insurance-required health
$1,046.00
nursing gen access fee
$145.00
nursing entry level fla.
$6,665.00
i know there is a lab fee that’s paid our first semester too of $150.00 but they haven’t charged my account.
if you receive full financial aid and full loans this is what you should receive for the winter and summer(financial aid wise and loan wise i am considered a junior in college)
direct sub staff loan
$2,750.00
direct sub staff loan
$2,750.00
direct usub staff loan
$3,500.00
direct usub staff loan
$3,500.00
fl resident acess grant
$1,212.00
federal pell grant
$5,550.00
the financial aid is splits between both semesters.
now you only pay health insurance twice in the winter and in the fall, there for the total for for our summer semester should be the below; (the general access fee is only paid once a year);
description
charge
nsu stu svcs fee
$250.00
nursing entry level fla.
$6,665.00
of course our next financial aid year would be august 2011 and that financial aid year we have to pay 3 semesters instead of two with the money we receive. so make sure you save your refunded financial aid or other sources of $$$ for those semesters because you will need it.
hope this helps you prepare financially
xoxo

I also posted this to the other Nova thread, didn't know there was a newer on! Hi everyone. I am new to this thread and I have a few questions. You all applied to start in January 2011 at Nova and have already gotten acceptance emails? I put in my app for Jan 2011 in August and still have not heard anything, it still says it is being reviewd. Isn't today (Oct.1) the deadline date to apply for Jan? How could you have gotten accepted before the deadline date? I am a little confused! Is the class already filled up? Thanks guys and congrats to all of you who have gotten accepted!
