Anyone here appling to the Winter 2011 ft. lauderdale program. ?

AWESOME! still waiting on for mine package. dying to know whats inside?

Hi giggles! No I haven't done that, do you think I should? I used to do that a lot before I turned in my application so I didn't think about making an appointment afterwards.

npachon= if you have called several times and they haven’t been helpful. i would recommend you make an appointment with the nursing advisor regarding your application status. explain that you applied for the fall term of 2010. show them the email regarding how they asked you to defer and you did (print it). then remind her how you had to call her to personally defer your application since the link on the email didn’t allow you to defer. therefore, you decided to make an appointment because you wanted to find out if things were “in order” in regards to your application; especially since it’s been x amount of months and you are still pending. try to get some information from her or someone else. don’t take no for an answer. if they say it’s “pending” ask; “what does that mean?” “why has it been pending for so long?” remember, over the phone they can’t give you any information since they can’t confirm who they are speaking to but at least in person you can ask all the questions you please. i highly recommend an appointment to all pending students; it show how much this really means to you.

Good advice giggles. I'm going to do that and see how it goes for me.. Thanks :)

it doesn't hurt to try; its your future. I really hope all pending students make it. I hope it works out for you. Let me know how it goes. Good luck :D

I just picked up my package. It's so cute! I haven't viewed all the information yet. I'll post info as I read through it.

Also, for those that don't know and have been accepted into the winter term of 2011. The Kendall campus will be open and available for our term. I really pushed for this opportunity. We all know the Baptist scholars isn't available for our term (winter 2011) however they are still going to have the Kendall Campus open. The clinicals were up in the air because currently the students do their clinicals at Baptist due to their contact but for winter term 2011 the clinicals will continue to be at Baptist and other local hospitals. Therefore, if your interested in the Kendall Campus (those accepted) should contact the nursing adviser regarding a campus change. I recommend viewing the Kendall campus before making a decision since it is a very small campus and there are some difference.

You can contact the campus and ask for a tour. Let them you have been admitted to the winter term of 2011 and you want to tour.

Contact information is:

Miami SEC

8585 SW 124th Avenue

Miami, Florida 33183

Phone: (305) 274-1021

Also, there are info meeting dates on:

  • June 24, 2010, 6:30 p.m.
    (Undergraduate Day)
  • July 21, 2010, 6:30 p.m.
  • July 24, 2010, 9:30 a.m

This info can be found on the Nova website: Miami Student Educational Center | Nova Southeastern University

Which you can RSVP for. I would contact the campus to see if this is fitting for nursing students since this campus also has other programs. BTW, I was told that the nursing students are the only one's who are on campus during the week in the morning. The other programs use the campus in the late afternoon during the weekdays. And the graduate programs use the campus on the weekends.

npachon= Any good news? how did it go?

karinat and giggles what were your credentials? I applied for jan 2011 but I only applied today!! So hopefully that didnt hurt my chances!

dawnrome= I have an overall GPA of 3.41, CPR/AED certified and I work for a hospital. My science grades are very good; A's and B', one C in Chm lab. If you have any other questions let me know.

heu guys i think these blogs are awesome i appplied for winter 2011 in june and im still waiting... im very anxious!

Hey boo, Glad to here you applied. I know the application process is very lengthy, we have all been there. Be very patient- its my only advise. I had applied in April of 2010 (for the Fall term) and I didn't find out about my acceptance till July for winter term since they made me defer- I had to wait 4 months! So be very patient. But in the end it all worth it. I agree these blogs are GREAT. I can't wait for the first day of class or orientation and finally meet everyone. lol. I really hope you get accepted. If you need anything, let me know. Good Luck! :)
