Hey I was wondering who has applied to the Nursing Program @ Nova starting fall 2010?
I would like to know of any updates any one has heard on the process, interviews, etc.
thanks!! best of luck!!
I agree with ralphigesbabe.... this waiting process has taken longer than anything ive ever waited for.. i keep saying to myself well this is my career and i dont care how long i wait because its worth it at the end, however, its disappointing to a certain degree... i sympathize with all of you as you hold on to hope and check your status on a daily basis..I have stopped checking my VIP page so often... i have realized that they are going to make when us wait no matter what close its getting to the start date. With NSU being as big as they are getting and receiving all this money they can atleast have a better admitting process... atleast give the students something whether its getting in or not. I have jumped through hurdles with these people... one minute im ok the next i am missing info again, just been mix up after mix up... i am very disappointed in them. I sent my app back in January and finished Micro in April and still nothing... then they tell me that im missing info, had me in the wrong program, etc. Crazy!!! How can they not meet everyday???? Are they not overwhelmed and need the help to get these apps done??? Dont they have a sense of priority? Baptist is pretty much waiting on them to finish... its getting embarrassing already! Its june 3 and we are nothing???? So upsetting... i feel for all of you... im trying to be positive but i dunno what to think right now.. i guess no news is good news??? I also think that we are the last batch of students to be reviewed... which sucks.. =( Hang in there guys. Thank god for this blog... we help each other in trying to get through this... just want to see all of us get in and be happy for once... good luck and praying for all of us.
Unfortunately, were all STILL waiting. I see students getting accepted and its getting me really anxious. I really want to know if its YES or NO, I NEED an answer. Hopefully we will all find out soon. Its really frustrating and discouraging but we all have to keep holding on and hope for the best.
Congrats! :yeah:again to those who have gotten accepted and to those who are still waiting good luck! and keep hanging on.

I hope we all hear soon!
I been reading this blog for a long time. This waiting is killing me. I apply at the end of March and I call them yesterday and they told me that my application is pending and they are really behind. Let's keep our fingers crossed, and remember patience is a virtue that we are going to need a lot in our career. So this is a training. Stay positive.
Kristou,
I had MCB pending last semester, in which my grade was posted on May 1 and i had to resend another transcript confirming the completion of my class. As long as you complete your classes before the deadline NSU supposedly stated that it wouldnt affect you in the admission process. However, if you are taking a summer class and its a pre-req for their nursing program then you are pretty much gambling your chances. I know that for me they were waiting on my grade for MCB... and now i am just waiting for an outcome. Waiting and waiting and waiting...... I cant figure them out and i have realized that i just have to relax and pray for all of us to get in at some point. If not this time around then next time... hope this information helped. Be patient everyone!
Jerziana29,
Thank you for all of your information. I plan to apply to NSU for their January 2011 term; however, I will be taking MCB 2010 this fall. Do you think that will affect my chances. Right now I have a 3.7 GPA and after the summer it should be higher than 3.8. I want the baptist scholarship so bad. I'm starting to look at barry since they have the same scholarship program with Baptist. Good luck Jerziana29, and thank you for taking the time to reply to my post.
Good luck to everyone.
Kristou,
Np problem we are all here to help each other and see what happens... i dont think it will affect your chances.. your GPA is great and its getting better so you are good to go. However, it will take longer for you to get a response because remember they have to wait for you to complete your classed and then send proof of it like your transcripts. Keep in mind though that the MCB course needs to be completed before the Oct 1 deadline... you need to have all pre-req's completed before the actual deadline. Lets say you end Sept. 20th or something as long as you send in your transcript you are ok if you go over the deadline mark then your gambling... but its also only one class your taking, however NSU has been all over the place that i am not sure what system they are following, i know friends that have gotten rejected because of going over the deadline, but then again look at your GPA and they are huge on that. right now thats all they are looking at. Keep positive and keep that GPA up girl! Good job! As for everyone else... praying for all of us.... hang in there!
Jerziana29,
thank you for all your info. Since I will finish MCB in december, I think it's best if I wait and apply for the next agust term. It would not bother me since I plan to apply for Barry's Agust term as well. I will take the first school that accepts me not only into their school, but also in the baptist scholarship since they both have it. Once againg, thank you and good luck.
Kristou, i am glad i was some help, if any. Its great that you are pursuing the Baptist Scholars, so am I. Its very hard to get into however so worth it. I think its a good idea to apply for the August term since you're classes wont finish until December.. my friend got denied the last time because of that but like I said your GPA walks and talks for you over there. Whatever decision you make im sure you will be fine wherever you go because with that GPA you're a golden child =0) Make sure you study for the HESI exam for Barry they have an entrance exam and im pretty sure its that one. Hang in there and you will be fine! Thanks for having all of us lingering students here in your prayers lol we need all the help we can get right now..... i feel like a prisoner in solitary confinement with Nova... they dont talk to you or tell you anything and just make you sit and think the worst.....i need drink maybe like 3 of them. if you need anything else just let me know and i will try to help you out. To the rest of waiting clan......
patience is a virtue...grrrr even though i dont like it.
Good luck to all!
Hi everyone!!
I called today and got some info. First, ****** is no longer the contact person for entry level nursing. The person is now ******. I actually left her a voicemail and she called me right back!. She told me that they received a lot of applications over 1,000 and that they have processed many and accepted many already, but that there still spots available and that everyone should know by the end of June. So we should all know within the coming weeks :)

It is a little crazy that applications are still pending. I have given up on them. I have tried to be patient but my status has been pending for 4 months! So at this point I have decided that NOVA is not going to be my first choice. I have really been disappointed by the way they have handle all our our situations. I know they have the funds to hire enough staff to process paperwork. They are not the cheapest place to get an education. And the fact that they don't even meet everyday...well that means we will be waiting forever...My cousin just graduated from there with his bachelor's and he hated the school the whole time he was there. Now I know why. What a disappointment.
