Does anyone have the medical insurance offered to NSNA members? Is it any good?

It is underwritten by Mega Life and Health and seems like a good deal, but I would love to get some feedback before I sign up.

Thanks in advance,

Ali

Somebody has it! Thanks

Could you tell me about it? I want to see if it's better than the school's health insurance because that is what i am going to have to get.

I can tell you that Mega Life was the insurance provider for health insurance offered to our local college's students until this month. You really need to get information on what is and isn't covered and decide if it's a good deal based on your needs. The basic insurance offered to our undergraduates paid for almost nothing short of being hit by a bus - it truly was intended to be catastrophic insurance only. The graduate students plan was much better but a bit more expensive.

Ask yourself what you need - "just in case" coverage in the event of a horrible tragedy, or do you have ongoing medical conditions at this time.

I have it. I can't tell you offhand what it covers...I may have gone to the doctor one time in the 1-1/2 years I've had the insurance. I don't have a lot of health care needs (knock on wood) so I think of this as a "just in case" kind of insurance. But I will see if I can find specifically what my plan covers. You're right; it's a good deal if you need it.

here's a link to there 2003-2004 brochure listing their policies and coverage.

I called NSNA about membership and health insurance. Here's the link that will give you all the inclusions and exclusions on the plan. You have to enter your age to get the plan amount.
