is it acceptable to write "in philadelphia, i was unable to locate a healthcare clinic that serves the filipino population" for neighborhood health centers. what did everyone else write for neighborhood health centers? did you reference anything for this section? i want to go back to nursing 451. i seriously hate the work load of this class. give me a research paper that i can actually find the information somewhere!!!!

hey pbj,

i went to my state's website and looked for "free clinics" and i found tons. mine was not a problem with clinics - but because they are so overcrowded that people ar put on a lottery and they only accept like 20 people on the section i chose that was closest to where i live.

as for filipino - i am not filipino but many of my friends have been filipino - you could try going to a filipino restaurant and look on their bulletin board and see if anyone has put up info on help for the filipino community (which i doubt), or a church institution. call the catholic churches and see if there is any outreach for the filipino community. most filipinos really do not need or go to an outreach center as they need to be sponsored to come here and most are legal citizens so they will be going to the westernized hospitals etc.hope this helps.

Hey you guys - I was looking over the module 3 and where are you guys getting the idea for the client assessment paper we have to do with someone not from our culture? I'm stressing here because I don't know if we have to use a patient or an adult (in one poriton of the assignment it says "patient" in another it says adult. I hate to use patients who are in the hospital as research project - it seems like using them for our own gains....

@2yearrnba - By "patient" it just means the person (adult) that you are doing your assessment on. It does not have to be a patient from the healthcare facility in which you work.

How do you guys plan on studying for the quiz this next week? It says it's based off the readings we've had. Meaning the articles and all? Are you going to actually read read the material, just skim it?

Thanks Modgoth. I found two volunteers from my social life (I laugh to call it that- since I only go to a TaiChi class) and they both want to- I really was thinking it had to do with patients. Whew - I do have a tendency to take things literally.

I dont know. I read the articles for last week, but when I did the test yourself, I missed 2 questions. Trying to retain 6 chapters in one week is unrealistic I think. But, I guessI am going to try to read what I can and skim the rest.

If we didn't have to do the DB it would help.
