Hello, I am a nurse with my Bachelors degree and I have a restricted nurse license. I am in the Oklahoma Peer Nursing program. I want to attend NP school, and I was curious if anyone knew of any online NP schools that accept nurses with an encumbered license. Any advice would be great, thanks.

Am unsure how a school would handle a restricted license. Have you considered getting a non-clinical MSN first then completing a post-MSN certificate as an NP?
Maybe its not a problem? Not sure...hopefully someone will be along soon with some solid advice.
Thank you, that was in informative.

Contact your dream school and see what they say. If the answer is no, see if they know of any schools who accept an encumbered license

I've been looking at several schools myself, and I've not found one that would accept someone with an encumbered license.

I don't think that any school will allow you into NP clinicals with an encumbered license. I currently have an encumbered license in Texas, ending in December. I started a MSN-Education degree January 2015 and had no problem doing that with an encumbered license. I applied to an Acute Care NP program and was accepted to start January 2016. I will be able to transfer most of my classes from the MSN-Education track, and my license will be unencumbered once I start the NP program! That was how I worked around it.
Yes, I think that is how I will have to do it. Thanks for the advice. What school do u attend, if you dont mind me asking.
