Yes.....and yes!

It was mostly terminology- and it was really the only course in my academic career ( except for Latin) that I have used flashcards for.

I wouldn't say it was difficult but it was time consuming. They're basically teaching you how to read and decipher a research study so you can apply it to your practice. Become familiar with the different types of research and the different types of studies. You'll be looking up papers a lot and writing papers too. I found it rather interesting and it really helped me learn how to use research in every day practice.

I second what Rocknurse stated above. It wasn't necessarily difficult, but it was a LOT of work. Plus, in our course, we had to do a minimum 30-page research proposal with full statistical analysis. Mine ended up being 36 pages, plus an additional 8 pages of references. It was a bear of a project and one of the reasons why I have no desire to do the DNP if it doesn't involve enhancement of clinical skills. I don't ever want to do another research project ever again...LOL :)

Yes. It wasn't hard, more time consuming with marginal value. It helps someone read studies and glean info from them, but you don't need a class to learn to ascertain study info.
