Does make you wonder though to why the midwife made the comment the ward was closed, I had a friend who had something similar happen to her although she was examined was told several times she wasn't in labour, lived 30 mins from hospital and on her 3rd visit in 12 hours insisted on being admitted and gave birth 20 mins later. But it does appear to be a get nurse/doctor at the moment in the news but nothing ever gets written on the good things we do
I feel reluctant to tell anyone I'm a nurse nowadays, especially that I work in a Nursing Home. You can almost see them thinking "Is she one of those that you read about"........or am I just getting paranoid?Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get me!:uhoh21:
Doubt you are getting paranoid but guess we are just easy to bash and pay low and generally stand on :trout:
I feel I have to comment I am so mad - when I read rubbish like this I know I did the right thing- give up midwifery (which I Loved) and work in the USA. Poor couple to recieve poor care , poor baby and poor midwives who are dammed if the do and dammed if they dont to busy to except her - then they do and no one to look after her same old story do you Know that the UK are lossing midwives at a fast rate than they train them no wounder who can work under such pressure- I some times have that pang in my heart to return to midwifery then I read something like this I know that I can not go back to that stress.

The press seem determined to pull down nurses/doctors at every opportunity, is it any wonder that violence against health care professionals is on the increase??
