November Visa Bulletin -OUT!

Published

After passing NCLEX, I thought everything was going to be fast. Current situation proved me wrong. There are no visas available and it could take years before I can set foot in the US.

For now, I am looking for other opportunities abroad. It seems that US doesn't really need foreign nurses. The focus is on hiring more faculty, improving workplace condition, attracting more US nurses to come back into the profession, and increase the number of US nursing graduates every year.

I am thinking of going to Australia. I have been to Melbourne once and it was really a very nice place.

If you haven't started the immigration process yet, I'd say go ahead while you still have a choice.

Best of Luck, And wish you a speedy visa process, if you choose! As far as I heard, Australia welcomes qualified FT nurses.:balloons:

OK so you get to Australia. Then in 3-4 years after all this has blown over, or your PD would have been valid, you may say to youself, "My God, what have I done?" (D. Byrne, sometime in the 1980's)

We will all get there, its just time is all it is.....

Well, atleast after 3 to 4 years, I get to have a choice --> stay in Australia or go to the US.

I am not (yet) giving up going to the US but while waiting for my PD to become current (PD - April 2007), I would like to spend my time wisely and get experience in Australia.

At that point when my PD becomes current, if my experience and life in Australia is good and I'm happy where I work, I may choose to stay but if not, atleast I have an option to go to the US.

Isn't this a nice way of spending my time while waiting for the Embassy Interview?

immigration to US is a lengthy and tedious process. Australia is a better choice.

There is no Schedule A and there has not been one since the February Bulletin came out in January of this year.

All RNs are included under the EB-3 category, the Schedule A was just a sub-category of that in the past.

Do not expect the Schedule A to reappear.

I am interested to know why you say you do not expect the SCHEDULE A to reappear?

I'm not Suzzane but can I answer your question? For Schedule A to re-appear, there is a need for Congress to pass a bill into a law that mandates Schedule A visas.

In the current situation in US congress, there is no way they reach to an agreement because of next year's election.
