Anyone else starting RN-BSN November 1?

I'm waiting on my transcript evaluation... I had a "follow up" appointment today with my EC, just to set up the official "intake interview" for Wednesday at 4. I hope there will be enough spots open for me to start in Nov, I've heard of some people having problems with that in previous months...

I haven't heard about that happening. So far I am still talking with my EC and waiting for eval of transcripts too. 2 health assessment classes?????why 2?

I've had my transcripts evaluated appealed, and then some of my appeal approved again (looks like I'll have to complete the 2 health assessment classes and BioChem)...... How is it going for everyone else? Has anyone started the online orientation or talked to their mentor yet? So far I am only communicating with the "enrollment counselor" still.[/quote']

You won't talk to your mentor until classes are about to start.

Just finished my intake interview and received my transcript evaluation... I'm going to have to take the 2 health assessment courses, biochem, and stats. I had a health assessment class in my RN program, but it was only 2 credit hours, and I think they told me the course had to be 3 hours in order to transfer. Oh well, hopefully it will be relatively easy to test out of... I'm more worried about stats and biochem... There's a definite reason I didn't take them during my previous college ventures!!!

No worries, you will do fine in the stats and biochem. :) Congrats on starting soon!

Thank you, I've been creeping this forum for a very long time :) I had to wait until I found a job after graduating, but now everything is finally ready to roll :D I appreciate all of the advice you and others have scattered throughout here, it will help me and the rest of the newbies immensely I'm sure.

I'm in for November 1st also! My evaluation also has me taking Health Assessment, Applied Health Assessment, Statistics and Biochemistry. I am really excited to get started.

I'm hopefully starting 11/1. I'm not particularly happy with the enrollment process, and it's possible it'll end up getting pushed back a month because of admission requirements I wasn't made aware of. I'm hoping to have my intake interview tomorrow. At least I don't have any unanticipated prereqs!

I also don't like the enrollment process either. I had my transcripts evaluated, and although I know *some* of the courses I got transfer credits for, I still don't know what I actually have to take to complete my BSN. I was told I won't find out until November 1st when my mentor calls and tells me. But by that time I would have already paid for the 6 motnths. So essentially I am signing up for *whatever they tell me I need to do* and am paying for it, without my prior knowledge of what I'm actually signing up for. I hope this is not shady. :(

I had to appeal to get credit for the stats class that I took this summer; for some reason it was not acknowledged on my transcript eval and stats is considered "unmet" at this point. So I hope the appeal goes through, and they do not require me to take it again---seeing as I just took it 3 months ago :) I am really hoping this is not shady!

KaLyn - you might want to download the PDF program guide from the website, if you have not already. That lists all the classes you will need to take, minus the ones marked off on your transcript review as 'requirement met'. doesn't let anyone out of the nursing classes, so I assume that's why they don't include those on the transcript review (although I think they should, as it causes a lot of confusion!). It's not 'shady', just the way they choose to do things.

I didn't even know this existed. I also just found I had an email just last week. :( I look forward to my orientation on the 15th, I really need it!

KaLyn, did you find the info on all the courses? I guess I'm just a good cyber snoop because I found all that before I even applied! :) I also need the Health Assessments, Biochem, and Stats in addition to the nursing courses. Frustrating that I've taken 2 stats classes before, but they were both more than 5 years ago. Oh well. I'm excited to get started!
