Nova Southeastern University Spring '12

Published

Hi! I will be submitting my NSU application at the beginning of next week (just waiting on my second L.O.R.) and I can't wait! I am very anxious to hear back from them, and have my fingers tightly crossed I will get accepted for spring. Are there any other hopefuls out there??

Combat- don't get discouraged yet. What campus did you apply to?

First off I would like to congratulate all of you that were accepted. Good luck to you all and I truly wish you all the best. I guess it is safe to assume that if one does not receive an email, then they have not been accepted. I guess I will keep trying and hopefully some day I will get in. I just don't know what more I can do, I have a 3.7 overall GPA and a 3.8 Science GPA and it still is not enough. I have 18 years experience as a medic in the Army and it still is not enough.

Combat don't get discouraged yet!!!! This has happen in previous years... not everybody gets notified at the same time... There's still hope for all of us!! :D Be positive!! I am also waiting as many of you are, today is my birthday and I just hope to get good news or NONE at all! :lol2:

Thanks!!! Yes, I received it to my gmail account... Sometimes emails are not received if you have an AOL account. Good Luck!!!!!!!

Congrats PRisci!!!!! :yeah:Did your VIP page change??

Hello everyone,

I have been following the forum, MDC's nursing program for 2012 spring(winter) and I got accepted for Full-time Generic option at MDC. I took the seat and well on my way to finishing all the paperwork and scholarship information.

I applied to NOVA's program for winter 2012, and will be denying my seat. So good luck to all who applied, stay positive and believe that your gonna get accepted over anything else.

For those that get rejected, stay positive, don't get discouraged, and overall keep applying. I got rejected last term for MDC and I made it in this term of applicants. I stayed positive, looked for inspiration, strength from my friends, kept applying and to more than one school. For where they won't accept you in one, they will surely accept you in another 10 schools. :D

CONGRATS TO THE STUDENTS THAT MADE IT. Your on your way to becoming excellent nurses coming from a great school like NOVA.

:yeah: :yelclap: *wine :ancong!: :stdnrsrck: :dancgrp:

Did anyone go to the open house today?

HEY YOU GUYS,

CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE THAT GOT IN!!!!!! I GOT INTO NOVA AS WELL!!! Hmm but unfortunately, I'll be declining my seat nova because I already accepted a seat at MDC's Generic full-time program. So that will be one more seat available to those that haven't already received their email. :lol2:

Good luck to all those that have received their emails and for those who are still patiently waiting.... Stay positive you guys!!

Congrats on you acceptance. I just curious to know for my own understanding...I what is the difference between Nova and MDC Generic program? Do both offer BSN? Share any of your thoughts. Thanks.

Juliansmom2011,

MDC's generic full-time program is 4 semesters (there is also a generic part-time, accelerated option, and bridge option) and is a ASN program. Nova is 7 semesters long and is a BSN program.

I don't know about other people's reasons, but I decided to go mdc not only because of cost, but for location as well. Nova cost approx. 23,000 a year (talk about some serious loans) but is a little far from where I stay. The commute to Kendall (the campus I got accepted to) would be insane everyday or every other day. What if my car breaks down and have to rely on public transportation to get to school??? Thats like a 2 hour ride - no bueno!!! lol

Mdc has a rn to bsn program and that is like 2 (no more than 3) semesters long and again is waaaaay cheaper than nova. Although nova was initially my first choice (because I had applied to mdc for the fall term and didn't get in), I opted for conveniency.

Aside from those few differences, mdc and nova are both really good programs. SN: it's always good to apply to more than one program!!!

HOPE THIS HELPS!!!!!!

Yes, what P_funk stated is exactly the reason why I choose MDC over NOVA. Nova's commute for the main campus, or kendall campus would have been like 40 mins just to get to school everyday by car. Not to mention the fact that I might need to be commuting more than one time a day. Originally, MDC was my first choice of school anyways because it's a great program; students who pass the program at MDC have a N-CLEX passing score well up in the high 90s and tend to do better than UM or Nova students. I also chose to go to MDC for the conveniency of having to pay nothing since I get full financial aid there and tuition is only $7,200.00 with $2,200.00 for books, fees, and lab tools. Comparing to Nova the immense tuition I would most likely have to pay, and that doesn't include books, fees, and lab tools.

Not to take away from Nova either. It's a great school, with a good reputation. Nova's nursing route opts for a BSN which MDC requires for you to do ASN first then BSN.
