Hi future nurses! I've been searching for a recent forum of the BSN program for Winter 2014 but couldn't find any so I decided to make one myself. I applied to the Winter 2014 BSN program at NOVA. All my prereqs are done, my GPA is 3.7 and my science GPA is 3.5. I was hoping to receive feedback from anyone who has applied in the past or is currently applying like myself to the Winter 2014 program! Have any of you gotten an interview call yet?:nailbiting:
They always do this. Those who aren't yet accepted your on hold because they don't know exactly how many students will have to repeat the semester. They already accepted a safe amount but they hold seats for those who are currently failing a class. Just like they are holding at least 7 seats right now at my campus for the 7 students that will need to repeat this semester because they are current failing we still have finals week coming up you probably won't get your final notices until after our finals are completed. Any grade below a 75 is failing.
The math you will need to take is called dimensional analysis if you took general chemistry then you are probably familiar with it. It's for drug calculations. I think first semester students have a math test every other week or every two weeks and a comprehensive math final and Kaplan test.
I will post the book list but honestly don't buy any books. You really don't use many of them and some teachers don't use the books at all.... You will need the apa book though...

Thank you......
I enjoyed reading some of the posts. Let me advise you, don't be alarmed. You can do this. First semester was a bit challenging due to the A&P course, but if you record her lectures and study off the power points, you will be fine. A&P is very hard, all the questions are pretty much critical thinking questions. I never opened the book for that class and managed to get As in all of the exams. The 4th exam for me and most of my peers was the hardest since it had to do with blood vessels and the respiratory system which gets confusing. A lot of people said that the final was the hardest since it was renal, but to me it was actually the easiest exam. The third exam which is cardio is the easiest of all. Everyone did great on that one. I suggest you to study for A&P at least for 2 hours a day and you'll be golden. DO NOT LEAVE THE MATERIAL FOR LAST MINUTE BECAUSE YOU WILL FAIL. Critically think everything, this class is not memorization, you need to learn your stuff all around because the questions are very tricky. The professor is amazing! Super intelligent and dedicated woman!
