Nova Southeastern University Entry Level BSN Winter 2014

Published

Hi future nurses! I've been searching for a recent forum of the BSN program for Winter 2014 but couldn't find any so I decided to make one myself. I applied to the Winter 2014 BSN program at NOVA. All my prereqs are done, my GPA is 3.7 and my science GPA is 3.5. I was hoping to receive feedback from anyone who has applied in the past or is currently applying like myself to the Winter 2014 program! Have any of you gotten an interview call yet?:nailbiting::nailbiting:

Great, thank you for your input....

I enjoyed reading some of the posts. Let me advise you don't be alarmed. You can do this. First semester was a bit challenging due to the A&P course, but if you record her lectures and study off the power points, you will be fine. A&P is very hard, all the questions are pretty much critical thinking questions. I never opened the book for that class and managed to get As in all of the exams. The 4th exam for me and most of my peers was the hardest since it had to do with blood vessels and the respiratory system which gets confusing. A lot of people said that the final was the hardest since it was renal, but to me it was actually the easiest exam. The third exam which is cardio is the easiest of all. Everyone did great on that one. I suggest you to study for A&P at least for 2 hours a day and you'll be golden. DO NOT LEAVE THE MATERIAL FOR LAST MINUTE BECAUSE YOU WILL FAIL. Critically think everything, this class is not memorization, you need to learn your stuff all around because the questions are very tricky. The professor is amazing! Super intelligent and dedicated woman![/quote']

Thanks so much for the heads up, and your eagerness to see us succeed. Honestly, I appreciate it tremendously. Looking forward to getting this journey started.

has anyone purchased the books yet ? i was wondering if i can get some inside information on whether to get the Ebooks or to actually purchase the hard copy. for example the anatomy book is like about 20 bucks ebook and hard copy is 56. Any advise?

We never used any of the books in first semester. Only the math and the A&P. the rest are useless because the professors don't even take a look at them. Purchase the math book because you will need it for the next semesters and I suggest you rent the A&P book since you won't need it much either.

Damn I just bought a whole bunch of books -__- what semester are u in now

Is there a FB page for Kendall campus if not let's make one :)

Hi!! I have my interview in mid-march. What should I expect? What is the exam like? I'm so nervous. What is the name of a practice book that u can buy? Thank You.

Hi everyone! I found these comments and wanted to follow up on how you all did on the Kaplan exam at Nova? I am preparing to take it now March 4th and am super nervous. Do you have any advise for me? Do you know what are the minimum scores you must obtain in order to be considered for the program?

It is basic math fraction. . Decimal. . . Proportion English and reading was hideous but doable. . . Science was only physiology and it was so in depth you either remembered the information from A&P or you didn't. . I thought there was no way to study for that section. . My advice take your time read the questions carefully and take your time but not all the time in the world sine it is timed :) btw bring a light jacket the computer room got very very cold!! Distracting cold. . I couldn't focus half the time!

Oh and Goodluck!!

Thanks for responding!! Oh wow ok...I'm going over the a&p book to refresh my memory. Did you do good overall though? How was the interview?

I honestly don't know I closed the result Window before I realized my score was on there. . Only to find out you don't get a print out of the result nor can you access the result online like the teas test and the score got sent directly to admission . . As far as the interview It was a little nerve quenching at first but be yourself and let yourself blossom and you will do fine :)
