Nova Southeastern University Entry Level BSN?

Published

Hi everyone! Just wanted to know if there is anyone who has applied to NSU's Entry Level BSN program RECENTLY and got in. I want to apply for Fall 2013's program. What was your GPA when you applied, how hard was it do you think to get in overall, just any personal experiences with your application journey.

I have a 3.691 currently and have taken Anatomy 1 & 2 with labs and got A's. Now I'm taking Microbiology and getting a B currently, will I be okay? Still have Chemistry and Human Growth and Dev. to take in the spring.

Thanks everyone in advance! :)

I emailed one of the admissions coordinators today about whether the exam will be weighted the same, or more than the prereqs and interview points. I'm hoping its less since they just let us know about it. :/

By the way, is the science GPA just a&p1 and 2 with labs, micro and lab, and chem? Or are all the other prereqs included?

Yep I hope they dont weight it heavily since we dont have much time to prepare. Also the course you mentioned are for your science gpa but they also use your cumulative gpa for admission.

hey everyone :) i am currently in nova's nursing program...this is my first semester, i just started last month but i was reading the comments about the kaplan test...kaplan is new to nova...we have to also log into kaplans site every week and do assignments and tests through kaplan. nova made my class take the kaplan entrance exam last week just to see where our level was. its pretty much the same test as the TEAS and HESI...if u have any questions i will be glad to answer them cuz i too was in your shoes trying to find out info regarding the program...good luck and hope you all get accepted :)

Hello stacixoxo43,

I got an email for an interview. It states the test will be the same date which is kind of nerve wracking because I don't feel like I have much time to prepare and probably not enough time to order a Kaplan practice exam book...

However, I did take the TEAS earlier this year and I have all of the study materials for that. Would you say it's pretty identical? Also, how would you compare the difficulties of Kaplan exam compared to Teas?

hey :) congrats on the interview :) i took the TEAS for miami dade and i thought the kaplan was much easier...there were 4 sections...reading which the passages were super boring and you had to answer questions like whats the main idea of the passage and specific questions like that where you actually had to read the passage...the math was a breeze...i did like 50 math problems in 15 min..it was the very simple basic math...thetre was a language section that asked about punctuation and which word doesnt fit in the sentence or was spelled wrong and that i breezed through too and then the last part was the science...that part was really hard...i only knew a few of those answers...and like with you guys we only had a few days notice we would be taking it except ours didnt count against us since were already in the program...kaplan seemed easier than TEAS but im not sure if they will be giving the incoming class the same one although i would imagine so...hope that helps and if you have any other questions feel free to ask :)

Yay!!! I hope it goes well. I have about the same overall GPA as you, but still taking A&PII and Stats. I hope I get an interview :o

Hi Everyone,

I would really like some feedback. I applied to Nova's winter 2014 term. I just got a phone call from the admissions person telling me that although all my pre-requisites have been completed I have to re-take Nutrition bc I took the class in 2004 and the classes have an expiration date of 5 years. I'm trying to register at dade for the mini term but I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this and still gotten an Interview? I don't want to defer until fall 2014. She said my science GPA is great a 4.0 but she can't guarantee I will get interviewed and accepted in time for the winter term. I do applied to Dade's generic program but I did do bad on the teas that I think I won't get in. If there is Anyone who could provide feedback I would really appreciate it. I'm really worried at this point.

I'm on the same boat as you. All my pre requisites are done but since I took nutrition 8 years ago its expired and now I have to re take it. I'm trying to register for a mini term at miami dade. I'm worried I won't get an interview at nova for winter 2014 and I cannot defer until fall 2014.

Hi Nursingdreamer2010

I am also applying for the Fort Myers campus- so keep me update on how you are doing with everything! Good luck!!

Thankyou so much stacixoxo43, your insight was very helpful. I scored about a 86% overall on the TEAS so hopefully I can do even better on the Kaplan.

Basically that's the same issue that i'm also very worried about :| I'm taking two prereq classes that don't finish until december. I talked to someone at Nova and she said I would be in the second tier of interviews since I have classes in progress. So if we were selected for an interview it wouldn't be until late October. (That's what she told me)

kriistennicole Hopefully you will get an interview soon! When did you apply? I think I applied the beginning of August. And for which campus? I applied to Ft. Myers.
