Nova Southeastern University Entry-Level BSN Winter (January 2016) !

Published

Hello everyone !!

I was looking for a post for the Entry-Level BSN program for Winter 2016 at Nova and I couldn't find one, so I decided to make one where we could all get in contact to discuss and share our experience, tips, thoughts and questions on this journey !

So, I guess I'll begin with mine!! I originally began my application to Nova April 30th (kind of late considering their deadline for registration was June 1st) for the Fall Semester. After I submitted both my nursingCAS and the NSU application, it took about 2 weeks to receive a response. I got my email for the interview May 19th. I immediately registered for an interview (June 4th, tomorrow!!!) and began to prepare.

I called Nova, to see if I could get some feedback as to what I could use to study from, or if there was any specific book I could purchase. The girl who I spoke to kindly informed me that there was no specific study guide and that the test would be based on previous knowledge from my prerequisites. With that being said, I immediately started googling and finding out as much information as possible about the Exam and the interview process (where I came to find this website that has genuinely helped me so much with gathering info). I then purchased the "Nursing School Entrance Exams" Kaplan book through Amazon, which cost me around $20, and began to study from that. I can' t tell you guys yet if that worked for me or not since we don't know the exact material of the exam and I hadn't taken the exam yet, but I'll make sure to come back and let you guys know how it went!

I received a call last week on Friday, that there were no more available seats for the Fall Term 2015. The girl I spoke to advised me to still present myself to the interview and take the exam. She also told me that the application could be moved to the Winter Term and that way I don't have to apply all over again and go through the same process. So, that's what I plan on doing.

I am so nervous for the exam more than anything, since I don't know what to expect, but I am trying to stay positive.

Good luck to all the new applicants for Winter Term and those that are on the same boat as me. Hopefully we are all together soon in the BSN program at NSU!!!!!!!

Yes I am going to call tomorrow because I also have questions about some forms that I received on my package. Yes lol, last week! So much paper work! I bought some school supplies over the weekend and I am thinking of getting my scrubs and lab coat soon as well!

I feel you!!! But I was actually going to wait till the first week of September because right now they are more focus on the Fall semester. This week is orientation for them

Yea, you're right! They're super busy! Are you guys applying to the Baptist scholar?

Main campus can't. But maybe you can. I remember that they usually don't offer that scholarship for the Winter semester but they did it for the entering class of Winter 2015 but only offered 5 spots.

Oh wow..........

I'm going to try my luck and see!

I would also like to try my luck with the Baptist Scholarship. When I called Baptist to get more info, they advised they were accepting applications through Oct. 15th and that they should have approx. 40 spots available. Hopefully this is true!

I heard the Baptist scholarship is only for the Kendall Campos

That's awesome!! Sounds great! Thanks for sharing! Yes! I really want to send my application. You should as well Bellky!!

Hi all! I finally got the email from nursing cas they received my transcripts. Do you guys know what is the next step and what should I wait on?

Sarah, that's great! So now you wait for the interview email. After Nova received my transcripts it took about a week for them to send me the interview invitation email! Good luck!!

Hey, does anyone know if when I send the transcript to the nursing cas do I have to add the sheet they put that says the nursing cas id number? Or can I just sent them the transcript by itself? I'm asking because my college "Broward College" has an online portal that lets students request transcripts to be sent to the CAS or anywhere you want (Yes they will sent it through mail and sealed) but online it doesn't give me the option to add the sheet that the nursing cas says to attach to your transcript. So if anyone has sent the nursing CAS their transcripts without the sheet please let me know. I'm trying to send my application stat. Thanks :)

Hi Diana! Not sure... I sent my transcripts straight from Miami Dade College to NSU main campus with no attachment. I just submitted everything online and sent my transcripts. Not sure if my answer helps.. if you are still confused or not sure why don't you call Nova and ask? Sorry if I didn't help.

Thank you, yes you were helpful. Also another question is once I send me transcript do I have to wait until the nursing cas recieves it in order to submit my application? Sorry I'm a little confused.
