Nova Southeastern University Entry-Level BSN Winter (January 2016) !

Published

Hello everyone !!

I was looking for a post for the Entry-Level BSN program for Winter 2016 at Nova and I couldn't find one, so I decided to make one where we could all get in contact to discuss and share our experience, tips, thoughts and questions on this journey !

So, I guess I'll begin with mine!! I originally began my application to Nova April 30th (kind of late considering their deadline for registration was June 1st) for the Fall Semester. After I submitted both my nursingCAS and the NSU application, it took about 2 weeks to receive a response. I got my email for the interview May 19th. I immediately registered for an interview (June 4th, tomorrow!!!) and began to prepare.

I called Nova, to see if I could get some feedback as to what I could use to study from, or if there was any specific book I could purchase. The girl who I spoke to kindly informed me that there was no specific study guide and that the test would be based on previous knowledge from my prerequisites. With that being said, I immediately started googling and finding out as much information as possible about the Exam and the interview process (where I came to find this website that has genuinely helped me so much with gathering info). I then purchased the "Nursing School Entrance Exams" Kaplan book through Amazon, which cost me around $20, and began to study from that. I can' t tell you guys yet if that worked for me or not since we don't know the exact material of the exam and I hadn't taken the exam yet, but I'll make sure to come back and let you guys know how it went!

I received a call last week on Friday, that there were no more available seats for the Fall Term 2015. The girl I spoke to advised me to still present myself to the interview and take the exam. She also told me that the application could be moved to the Winter Term and that way I don't have to apply all over again and go through the same process. So, that's what I plan on doing.

I am so nervous for the exam more than anything, since I don't know what to expect, but I am trying to stay positive.

Good luck to all the new applicants for Winter Term and those that are on the same boat as me. Hopefully we are all together soon in the BSN program at NSU!!!!!!!

Aww thank you so much. I definitely will let you guys know.

I just submitted my application for January 2016. Yayyy hopefully I get my interview soon. I'm so excited and can't wait to start. I applied for the Main campus (Fort Lauderdale). :)

Good luck!!! Hope you get in :) I got accepted into the main campus so hopefully will be classmates:)

Thank you :) yes hopefully we will. Congrats on your acceptance by the way.

Hello,

I got accepted to the Nova Southeastern University Nursing Program Spring 2016 at the Fort Lauderdale Campus. I started with the essay, the Kaplan Test, Tour, and the interview. The essay portion was very easy. It just stated when was the last time you were in a group project, what was your role, and how did you guys work in a team. For the Kaplan test, I recommend purchasing the Kaplan Practice Test, which you can purchase at any Barnes and Noble for 24$. For the interview, I was asked questions such as what makes a nurse, describe yourself, they gave me questions that were based on scenario situations such as if you saw someone stealing something, what will you do? Just be confident within yourself, be positive, and have fun! God Bless!

Congrats! I hope to see you there!

Hello everyone!

I'm applying to the nursing program for winter 2016. I know that we have to do the Nova application and the nursingCAS. Should I send transcripts to Nova separately from the nursingCAS? I've completed all pre-reqs but I'm unsure about the chemistry because I took Chem 1032 for health science majors so I'm not sure if that is the correct chemistry class. I've applied to Famu's SON and received an interview but did not get in for the fall, so I'm also reapplying there. If anyone can please let me know how their application process is going for Nova I would really appreciate it :)

Welcome! Yes you do have to send it to both nursing cas and nova. Also chem 1032 is the correct chemistry. I was gonna take that one at BC but instead I am taking it at nova. Good luck with the process :)

Ok thank you so much!! I'm submitting my application today and also the nursingCAS. Now do we have to use the transcript forms for nursingCAS or can we just send them regularly to them from our school?? Also how long did it take for your application to process and everything if you don't mind me asking?

Dionna thanks for sharing your experience & congrats !!!!!! ❤️❤️

Cyant submit both of your applications ! Send the official transcripts from the college or university your attending now directly to Nova. Once they receive your transcripts they will combine it with your application. I had to wait almost 2 weeks after I submitted everything and sent my transcripts to get my interview email! I wish you lots of luck! If you have any more questions just ask and we will all try to help!

Thank you so much Yudi!! The school I am at now I'm not taking any pre-reqs, I've completed them. Should I still just go ahead and send a transcript?? I'm at a new school I took my pre-reqs at FGCU in fort Myers and some at HCC in Tampa. See the thing is I applied to the nursing school at famu and did not get in but I did not want to be out of school so I just took classes up there while I reapply to their program and while I apply to Nova. I already sent those FGCU and HCC transcripts today to nova I just have to send them to nursingCAS.

Cyant as long as you have already completed all the pre-reqs for Nova then yes send them, no worries if you are still taking other classes. As long as you have the ones needed completed ! :)
