Nova Southeastern University Entry-Level BSN Winter (January 2016) !

Published

Hello everyone !!

I was looking for a post for the Entry-Level BSN program for Winter 2016 at Nova and I couldn't find one, so I decided to make one where we could all get in contact to discuss and share our experience, tips, thoughts and questions on this journey !

So, I guess I'll begin with mine!! I originally began my application to Nova April 30th (kind of late considering their deadline for registration was June 1st) for the Fall Semester. After I submitted both my nursingCAS and the NSU application, it took about 2 weeks to receive a response. I got my email for the interview May 19th. I immediately registered for an interview (June 4th, tomorrow!!!) and began to prepare.

I called Nova, to see if I could get some feedback as to what I could use to study from, or if there was any specific book I could purchase. The girl who I spoke to kindly informed me that there was no specific study guide and that the test would be based on previous knowledge from my prerequisites. With that being said, I immediately started googling and finding out as much information as possible about the Exam and the interview process (where I came to find this website that has genuinely helped me so much with gathering info). I then purchased the "Nursing School Entrance Exams" Kaplan book through Amazon, which cost me around $20, and began to study from that. I can' t tell you guys yet if that worked for me or not since we don't know the exact material of the exam and I hadn't taken the exam yet, but I'll make sure to come back and let you guys know how it went!

I received a call last week on Friday, that there were no more available seats for the Fall Term 2015. The girl I spoke to advised me to still present myself to the interview and take the exam. She also told me that the application could be moved to the Winter Term and that way I don't have to apply all over again and go through the same process. So, that's what I plan on doing.

I am so nervous for the exam more than anything, since I don't know what to expect, but I am trying to stay positive.

Good luck to all the new applicants for Winter Term and those that are on the same boat as me. Hopefully we are all together soon in the BSN program at NSU!!!!!!!

Yes! I received the acceptance package and already paid my tuition deposit. I interviewed rather early since I was applying for Fall semester. I interviewed in early March and spots were already filled. I am so anxious and excited to start already because I am all set with prereqs and all that!!!

We are on the same, same boat. I had my interview June 4th and I already paid my tuition deposit as well. I am just waiting now to receive my pin and send all the paper work I received in my acceptance package back. Have you received your pin yet? I am excited and nervous as well!! lol :D

I actually just called this morning and found out that (sadly) Sharifa is not working with NSU anymore ): but I did get my PIN to start on my background check!

Yes I heard Sharifa was no longer with NSU :( I just received my pin number as well, I am going to begin doing my background check and all that now. I was wondering how their health insurance worked. Do you know anything on that ?

Hi guys! So I did what steven said I also sent the transcripts to the school just in case nursing cas has already recieced them. But Miami campus told me now I have to wait. Do you know how long it will take to get an answer to interview?

Hi Sarah, for me it took about 2 weeks to receive an invitation to interview email. How long has it been since they received all the paperwork? Did you ever receive an email that the transcript had been received by NSU?

Like two weeks already and nope nsu hasn't only nursing cas and they are still being verified.

I would call again and ask if they have received your transcripts, just to make sure.

I actually have no idea how that works yet...

Finally got my acceptance package today!! So excited!

I got an email this morning about my interview! It's scheduled for September 8th, 2015. Any advice for the Kaplan or the interview itself??? Hope everyone hears about interviews soon!!! Miami Campus

Belky yayyy! If you did not receive your pin yet just call and they will give it to you. The person I spoke to said they are behind on some things so if anything just give them a call.

Alegisselle congrats!!!!!!!!! I would suggest to brush up mainly on the since portion of the exam. If you have A&P notes study from that. The interview is pretty straight forward and they are so nice you'll feel comfortable though nervous of course lol.

Do you guys think I should buy the book? I see many reviews that the book didn't help.
