Nova Southeastern University Entry-Level BSN Winter (January 2016) !

Published

Hello everyone !!

I was looking for a post for the Entry-Level BSN program for Winter 2016 at Nova and I couldn't find one, so I decided to make one where we could all get in contact to discuss and share our experience, tips, thoughts and questions on this journey !

So, I guess I'll begin with mine!! I originally began my application to Nova April 30th (kind of late considering their deadline for registration was June 1st) for the Fall Semester. After I submitted both my nursingCAS and the NSU application, it took about 2 weeks to receive a response. I got my email for the interview May 19th. I immediately registered for an interview (June 4th, tomorrow!!!) and began to prepare.

I called Nova, to see if I could get some feedback as to what I could use to study from, or if there was any specific book I could purchase. The girl who I spoke to kindly informed me that there was no specific study guide and that the test would be based on previous knowledge from my prerequisites. With that being said, I immediately started googling and finding out as much information as possible about the Exam and the interview process (where I came to find this website that has genuinely helped me so much with gathering info). I then purchased the "Nursing School Entrance Exams" Kaplan book through Amazon, which cost me around $20, and began to study from that. I can' t tell you guys yet if that worked for me or not since we don't know the exact material of the exam and I hadn't taken the exam yet, but I'll make sure to come back and let you guys know how it went!

I received a call last week on Friday, that there were no more available seats for the Fall Term 2015. The girl I spoke to advised me to still present myself to the interview and take the exam. She also told me that the application could be moved to the Winter Term and that way I don't have to apply all over again and go through the same process. So, that's what I plan on doing.

I am so nervous for the exam more than anything, since I don't know what to expect, but I am trying to stay positive.

Good luck to all the new applicants for Winter Term and those that are on the same boat as me. Hopefully we are all together soon in the BSN program at NSU!!!!!!!

How long did it take for you guys to find out if you were accepted or not?

I had my interview last week! :/

Hiii!! For me it took about a month, but I applied and had my interview very, very early! So maybe wait one or two more weeks. If not call, for sure! :) Good luck!!!! Which campus did you apply to?

So I sent my transcripts two weeks ago to both Nova and the nursingCAS. This morning I received an email from Nova stating they have received my transcripts. I called Nova's nursing admissions and they said they've received the transcripts, but they aren't able to review it until the nursing CAS reviews it and sends them the copy. I don't understand why since its the same transcript its so ridiculous! I know some students on here were able to have their application reviewed as long as Nova received the transcript so I'm wondering if whoever is running the place now is just being lazy? Ughh this is so frustrating. Anyone else still waiting on their transcripts to be reviewed and have a different response?

Thank you!!

Kendall campus

Hi,

I also have the interview on Sept 8, I am very excited can't wait!!

Meicp, GOOD LUCK!! Let us know how it goes!

Which campus did you apply to?

Just left NSU Miami campus from my interview! Everything went great. Hoping to hear back soon. Goodluck to everyone (:

Thank you so much! I applied for the Kendall campus

Did everyone had the orientation the same day of the interview?

Alegisselle glad to hear everything went good!! Hope you receive the good news soon!!

Meicp I got accepted to the Miami campus so hopefully we all meet there! :D I got a quick orientation the day of my interview yes.

Hey you guys! Just to let you know I did my Kaplan and Interview today for the Main Campus! I got a 88 on my Kaplan and the interview was smooth. I was confident but a bit shy. Was trying really hard not to do "hum"s and "like"s and "i think" very much. Behavioral questions: what would you do type of thing.

The Kaplan was easier than I thought, really not that bad. I did well on science, 90. Math was 86 but I felt it was a breeze. What I did, honestly, was watch some youtube videos with basic information about each system (and they were all there) since I took anatomy last semester and got an A. Just refresh your memory and you will be okay.

Does anybody knows how long it takes before they send you an e-mail, or the package, if you get in? How long did you guys wait until you called to know if you were in? I'm so anxious!!

Good luck to you all!!

me too, well hopefully I'll receive good news soon

I also had my interview today at Kendall campus they told us that it can take from 4 to 5 weeks but you can always call to know the status, so I would call them in two weeks :smug:

Hi

I had my interview yesterday .I did good on the interview, however I scored 57 on the Kaplan exam which is terrible .I'm freaking out dear . I don't know if I will get in with that score. My science GPA is 4.0. My overall GPA is 3.39.
