Hi all! It may be quite early for a Fall 2019 forum, but it's better to be prepared. I'm in the process of completing my pre-reqs at MDC and am projected to finish Spring 2019. So with that being said, my plan is to apply to NSU for the Fall 2019 nursing program. Anyone out there beginning their journey with admissions, etc. ?
Hi everyone,
I just did my interview and I'm worried because of my low score on the Kaplan Test. I got a 54 overall score with 71 Math, 70 Science, 30 English, and 33 Reading. I score low on English and reading since it wasn't my first language. However, I have a GPA of 3.82 and 5 years experience working in the hospital. I am hoping those work to my advantage.
Do you think my high GPA will outweigh my low Kaplan Exam?

Hello!
To be honest, I'm not totally sure how the admissions team decides who to accept into the program. Your GPA is awesome, and it helps that you have that experience. Were they able to know that you had those five years of hospital experience? Also, I'm sure that there are many nursing applicants whose first language is also not English (especially in South FL) and I would hope that they would be understanding of that. Your science score is good, compared to mine at least! I've heard of people getting accepted with a score in the 60s, so you aren't too far off! How do you think you did on the interview?

You sound like a wonderful candidate and your application is strong. Nova is a wonderful school because they look at the overall candidate’s potential. I’m sure you will be fine!
