I applied to Nova's Entry Level BSN program today for Fall 2012 semester and thought it may be helpful to start up a forum.
If you are:
currently applying or plan on applying, a former applicant, a current student, I'd love to hear from you!
Has everyone finished their perquisites? Does anyone else have a not so competitive GPA (like me)? Does anyone know who is considered a competitive applicant? Where is everyone else applying?
I look forward to speaking with everyone and hopefully entering the Fall '12 class together!
First of all, I have full respect for you. But you must understand that If you pay more you should do less efforts. That is the purpose of a private school if you did not know that before. They keep saying that they are there for the students success, but it is not true. By the way, I am in Fort lauderdale campus I do not know lots of things about kendall campus, but I heard because of lots of spanish students things are easier and it is in a spanish area. And besides, they accept less students. Maybe in your campus you have all the best qualified professors, but in Fort lauderdale no. Besides, spanish always help their other spanish race.
I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with you. To me its the other way around. I would expect to do less if I pay less but that's just me. As far as the issue about Spanish language goes, you are also wrong there because while there are a large "Spanish speaking" student body, most of our instructors do not speak Spanish. It's obvious that you are set on your opinion about nova so let's just agree to disagree. Good luck on your education and future career.
Whomever informed you that going to a private university means you can work less is highly uninformed. That is not the point to a private university. Like I said, kindly take your advice to a new thread so that we may enjoy our thread and what we came here for.
AND...by the way there are scholarships offered too. Life isnt easy.
I work at a law firm right now and Ive spoken to attorney's who are around my age 24-28 years old...and they paid average of $180,000.00-$200,000.00 in just law school loans, not to mention housing. Now, after law school graduation and boards they get paid $23.00 - $27.00 an hour and they went to law school for 3-4 years! Thats almost the same as a nurse gets paid working 3-4 days a week and these lawyers kill themselves 7 days and weekends too. I know a nurses schedule is hectic too, but look outside the box and look at other peoples scenarios regarding loans and their education.
I see these lawyers everyday going nuts, traveling everywhere, sucking up to clients etc! And they are loaded with loans but hey they are working, professionals who will grow to becoming better attorneys in the long run and open their firms.
NOVA offers other programs like dental, medical school etc. So having a job right after your BSN in just two years is great!!! You get your foot in the door and get experience. I know a close friend of mine also who is a great nurse who worked as a nurse for 5 years while getting her Masters/Doctorates at FIU and she got into University of Miami's medical school without a problem. Be thankful!!!!
You make an excellent point Priscy, I think we are all well aware there is a moron lurking among us. We have all decided to ignore him/her or whatever it is and to continue on with our original forum topic. Please join us in collectively ignoring the "other guy" whom has absolutely ZERO productive or in any way helpful or meaningful information to pass along.
You are absoultely right! Lets all pretend that he was never here. He really makes no sense and its pretty distrubing to listen to ignorant and not to mention sort of racist or i guess you can say better yet cultural bias remarks from NOVABAD. We are all here to get our education.

I know the students from community college, most of them are loking the lazy professor to get "A" (at rate my professor). So, I'm pretty sure that you are one of them. Let me tell you something, you don't deserve stay in any University less studying nursing because you are a really lazy student even when you say that you have a "3.91" GPA...guess what that is unbelievable cause if you have it you will stay happy at Nova University...Nova is hard cause it is an UNIVERSITY man or woman, no more bad community college students outside, so that is the preice that you should pay for bad preparation that you received at your college....good luck...great for NOVA...
