Nova Southeastern 2012 Entry Level BSN

Published

Hello everyone!

I applied to Nova's Entry Level BSN program today for Fall 2012 semester and thought it may be helpful to start up a forum.

If you are:

currently applying or plan on applying, a former applicant, a current student, I'd love to hear from you!

Has everyone finished their perquisites? Does anyone else have a not so competitive GPA (like me)? Does anyone know who is considered a competitive applicant? Where is everyone else applying?

I look forward to speaking with everyone and hopefully entering the Fall '12 class together!

When did you have your interview?? :)

No yet...I'm wating for my answer too...but my brother was graduated from Nova...
Raccoon57 you will recieve in this week your answer...after your interview you will wait for about 2 weeks in order to receive your answer...don't worry...By the way, somebody have heard about Chamberlain college of nursing? They have a similar program that Nova...they open in MIRAMAR, and the process to go into the program is more easy than Nova...they are accepting application right now to start on July 9th...

It is really true. Chamberlain has a better program than Nova. I have two friends of mine which are in the program. Eventhough chamberlain can be more expensive than Nova, but they really help the students achieve their goal. They have a very big and diversify labs. Can you see now that I do not have problem with the tuition cost at nova, but stated that they are going to help but there is no help it is not fair. Chamberlain really help you achieve your goal for the money that you are paying. The only difference, I am not sure if their credits are transferable to other schools.

My interview was last thursday at Davie (Main campus-Fort Lauderdale)

NOVABAD, yes, you can transfer your credits from other colleges, university, etc...I was there, and you're rigth, it will be a little more expensive than Nova,...but the point here (in my case) prestigious over graduated students, because doesn't matter the money if you will find a good job when we finish the program...at the end of the story we have to pay a lot of money during our career...

Lemo sincerely when you go look for a job in the health career they never ask you which school you are coming from. The two best things they care about is if you can do the work or job and if your state license is operational. I know that because almost all my friends are nurses, dentists, and anesthesiologists. Prestigious school come a matter when you want to go further in your career. for example: go for a master, go for a PhD, etc... Since the school credits are transferable, you should be fine.

Omg me too!!! We are on the same boat... God bless us hope I hope we get in :yeah: Lets keep each other posted I need some support lol  Im going crazy

Hey Me Too LOL...waiting on a response after my interview. Fingers crossed

Hi,

I am a 3rd semester student at the main campus. I decided to write a post to encourage everyone since I've noticed some negativity on this board! The nursing program at Nova is great. As long as you put effort into what you're doing everything will turn out great. It's quite an experience but you have to love what you're doing. Even though it's a hectic schedule, if you take the time to organize and plan ahead you will have time to do the things you want on your downtime. As far as getting help, it is available if you seek it out. So if you're having a hard time in a class because you don't know how to approach the information, just take the time to speak with your professor. They are all so approachable, and they care that you learn. Like I read on a previous post, just because you're paying more money than other schools doesn't mean they're gonna spoon feed the info. You have to work and take the initiative. I've seen others who don't put in the effort so they don't get the results. I think everyone should have a positive attitude. There are times when it seems impossible but it is possible. For example, I had 4 classes last semester 13 credits total. So basically I had lecture monday-wednesday, I worked at my part time job on thursdays and had clinicals on saturdays and sundays. I still had time to go out with my friends and family when I could between exams. It just takes planning. So that's my rant. I want to wish everyone luck, and I hope to see fresh new faces this fall. If you have questions just ask. I'll try to check them in between study sessions!

Specializes in ICU, PCU, Neuro/Stroke.

Hi All...

I had my interview on April 19th at the Ft. Myers Campus and still haven't heard anything.. Has anyone from that interview date heard anything from NOVA? Thanks

Thank you so much for your input! This was so refreshing to read :) Especially you telling us that you had time to still go out with friends and family because time management has been one of my biggest concerns! I hear that nursing school takes a big toll on family/friendship/boyfriend or girlfriend/spouse relationships, so it was really good to read that you are able to make time for other people and still do good in school :) Thanks again!

When I just started to Nova last semester, I heard many students like you who were offering their help for the Anatomy and Physiology class, but after the deadline of the drop date for the financial or after students could not have their money back, I could not find any of them. I know many students who are advertising for nova and they get some tuition reduction or discount. Are you one of them?

I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience. But I do not get any discounts, and there's no such thing. It's sad to see that someone is putting such negative words for people who are trying to pursue their dreams. And as far as the anatomy and physio goes, you get what you put into it. If you study, and actually have an open mind and try to understand and not give up you can pass. I passed with an A, but I put the effort. I would go to school at 8AM for all my classes and stayed after Anatomy or physio at the library until 8PM or later. Just plain studying out of the powerpoints and where there was confusion referring to the book. I passed the class, and it was doable. Obviously the program is manageable because our cohort (Fall 2011) is going strong. There are 73 of us who have made it to the 3rd semseter, and surviving. So please don't be so negative and bring people down. It's true that everyone's different, and learning styles are different. But dedicate yourself and you will succeed.
