Nova Entry Level BSN Winter 2017

Published

I know some people have already interviewed for Nova's nursing program starting in winter due to the fact that the fall is full... So, I started a new section! Good luck to everyone who has already interviewed and all that are still applying! Keep us updated!!

Thank you for your help

Nurse2bVenus, I interviewed June 21 and found out 1 week later because I called to follow up. Interview questions are scenario questions so google different type of questions that may pop up. The essay was pretty easy.

Awesome...Thanks for the info. I'm going to apply soon, please hit like if you are applying to start Jan 2017. Thanks

Hey everyone! I have been accepted for winter 2017! I am currently living in Virginia and will be moving down in December. I cannot wait to meet everyone!

So a little bit about my application process... Like most, I originally applied for fall 16. However, due to the program becoming full, my application was automatically deferred to winter. I applied on both nova and nursingcas. Honesty NursingCas is more of a headache and a complete waste of time and money. My application on the cas website is still incomplete. I didn't submit any test scores on nova. I can't even remember if they asked for it. Once my transcripts were submitted, I called at least twice a week to check the status. It took a couple of days for me to receive an interview email once the college received my transcripts. My group checked in and we waited for the essay and Kaplan exam. I scored a 76 on the Kaplan. Not too great but most of my group had scored lower than that. After was the interview. It was completed with two nursing professors and they ask you about 5 questions. They opened up with "in a minute or less tell us about yourself." The minute made me so nervous. Not sure why but being timed caught me off guard. I waited a week to see if they had made a decision. I called three people to be sure! Lol so keep the information cards. One person told me they were still deciding and another told me I was accepted and This was within minutes of speaking to each person. My GPA is a bit complicated. I have attended three different school so I'm not sure how or what they calculated. I am also a veteran and I think that helped me a little. From what they told us, they are looking for a good balance between grades and the ability to communicate. So if you are a people person and your grades are decent they will take you and vice versa.

Also, I apologize for all grammatical errors!!

Good luck all!!

Quick question guys, I just applied, and sent over all of my transcripts, I'm just waiting for them to be received. But since English is not my native Language, they are making do the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). I don't understand why. It does not make any sense. I have my AA in Pre-Nursing that means that I went to College and I know English. I'm not an International Student. This is something new. Is anybody in the same position as mine. Please comment. Thanks

Needless to say, it's more money, and I'm also glad Nursing Cas App is not really necessary, bc that's another $25 or $50

Hey ! Have any of you guys received an email or your letter yet ?

Hello everyone!

Congrats to those who've been accepted, and good luck to those who are applying! :)

I just recently decided I'll be applying to Nova (I'm also applying at Broward). I've started my application for Nova, but have not done so for Nursing CAS. I've seen a couple people who said they didn't do the nursing cas application, not sure if I should or not? Any tips and suggestions will be greatly appreciated! :)

Niko.m227, I know a handful of people that applied using nursing CAS, including myself, and I know others that chose not to. Personally I don't think the university favors one method over the other. I really believe you should just use whichever method is most convenient for you. Good luck, and happy applying!

Niko.m227, I was told by an admissions advisor to apply through Nova only. I did not use Nursing CAS. You can always request info and an advisor will email you and set up an appointment to meet and explain everything . Good luck!

Hello I also applied to Broward. There is no need to apply with nursing CAS. I'm now studying for the Hesi/Kaplan. I'm using the Hesi Book

Vanessa0415, Have you heard back yet?
