try to post on the most appropriate forum and you will get many more responses than if you scatter the same question all over. if you have any question about which forum to use, the general forum is always here.

please also remember that posting on bb for research purposes is strictly prohibited and member's account will be closed.

thanks and have fun posting.

1) I certainly agree that multiple posts of the same basic content are annoying. BUT

2) why are research posts forbidden, so long as they are clearly identified? I haven't done any here, but that policy seems surprising.

I've always wondered about that too.

Maybe because it's considered trolling?

Well first of all, if they're talking about researching people's opinions on something or if they support this or that, the Net (message board) is a highly flaud method. I mean the results are gonna be skewed so much they'll be worthless as stats.

prn,

i don't see where you are identifed as a modorator. are you? if not what is your source for this information? are you authorized to speak for brian?

i am not being disrespectful. if you are a modiator then i respect your request.

many times modorators have moved post that were likely to be better answered to different formums. sometimes when this is done the post apears in more than one place. sometime multiple post are done because they belong on a particular forum but that forum does not yield adequate or any responses.

i am unfamilar with what you are refereing to when you talk about research posting. could you clarify this.

modorators have the ability to remove posts that are inappropriate and generally address a problem about a post privately with the individual concerned.

I personally am glad that you are posting this, and would hope that you would make it a sticky.

Moderator or no moderator, as many of us use the "New Post" feature and it is really or annoying to find something posted to all 50 state forums, or in 8 different places.

It would be nice if there was a sticky for common internet etiquette (such as avoiding all Caps, using search before posting another post on a subject that has been done to death).

Thank you P RN

I see her staff logo and the name in the moderator list :)

OK, thanks.

I did not realize things were being posted on forum of all 50 states!! That is a little crazy.

I admit I have not taken time to do the tutorial (it takes time) so I have not learned what you have about the site and I am not seeing duplicate posts.

maybe not knowing how to fully navigate is an advantage.

I agree it should be a sticky.

My goodness--I am so sorry that my thread showed up on 50 posts--I have been reading away at the tutorial but I am not much good at this and have really never used boards much. I just found this and realized this is about my post! Thing is I can't find my origianl posts and have no idea if anyone replyed. I am totally lost about the reserch comment. I only was looking for someone who knows the area around Oceanside Ca. And could be helpful to me on behalf of someone I love and care about. Sorry if I broke the rules I did not mean to offend and I did not mean to post on 50 states forums. I just wish there was someone out there who could answer my original post-or if they did that I could find it.

Actually, there are quite a few people that do these things, not one in particular.

You are not seeing a lot of identical posts because we keep cleaning them up. They are annoying because they generate so much extra work for us.
