Hi guys,
This is my first post in this forum. The BRN of CA has evaluated my application and said that I am unfortunately not eligible to take the NCLEX examination for grounds saying that I have not taken the course in the right order. The CA BRN asked for a lot of documents such as transcripts, copy of our Related Learning Experience Book, academic calendar, copy of our clinical cases etc. I am a California Resident but I have taken the course and graduated in the Philippines. The board advises that they can forward my application to the board of LVN if ever I wanted to get evaluated to obtain a different license. However, the analyst who evaluated my application emailed me and advised that I can take a special Nursing program in a College/ University for additional credits. It is however unclear to me on what specific classes or programs should I take to be eligible because they didn't specify it on the letter that they have sent me.
What would you guys suggest? I am thinking of applying to the board of New Mexico and after getting my license there would apply for California Reciprocity/ Endorsement.
Your help is much needed. Thank you!

If you don't qualify by the CA BON requirements, you will not be able to endorse-transfer from any other out of state RN license. I'm sure this post will be moved into the International forum, you'll find many PH students and nurses are unable to not pass the concurrency issues facing the foreign students, but it's true for about 15 other States.
The reason you wil not be allowed to transfer your out of State license into CA is that CA will require the same exact transcripts to be reviewed again.
Be prepared to settle to become an LVN and if you can enroll and pay the $7,000 plus in tuition fees for the few classes, plus $1000 or more for the books and supplies, then try to re-apply into CA.
Or prepare to work in another State not enforcing the concurrency rules.
Btw, when did you graduate with your BSN?

moved to the nurse registration forum in the World nursing section. Suggest a good read of this forum as there are quite a few threads already on this very subject.
Thank you so much for the informative post steppybay. That made a lot of sense. I just needed someone to confirm what was going on in my head. The CA BRN would ask for the same documents and most probably would arrive to the same decision. I graduated October of 2010. Thanks.

Hello...I took the nclex RN exam 3x and failed...I haven't applied for the re application to my last exam yet...my concern is, does the new CA rules applies to me? Since I was eligible way way back and this will be my 4th time to take it?
