It helped me focus and concentrate, it was unbelievable. I was retaining everything i read so fast. I actually got things done and I felt so organized. I'm pretty sure A.D.D medication can help concentration. When I can't focus I drink coffee and it works for me. Not in my head either, I always use to cry because I couldn't focus in class...
i am a learning disabled nursing student, but i am doing very well!
there are measures which can taken for you to succeed, but you need to see your physician for referrals and proper help. psychologists, psychiatrist/your own doc, can put together a plan to help you reach your max potential.
another thing to consider, and i mean this with love and care, is that not everyone can be a nurse. some people do not have the ability to understand specific subjects, and this is not a sign of being 'dumb' or not good enough. some people are great engineers, but they could not become a nurse.
you know what is sad? i had to ask my husband what blow was. i said "honey, you lived in la for awhile, so you saw a lot of drugs right?"(he probably did a few too, but we do not discuss that) his response "ummm, yeah, why do you ask?" me "what is blow?" he responded with the correct drug name, meanwhile he laughed. i am not so illegal drug savvy, i guess. i am having difficulty understanding why people do not seem to want to seek medical attention. add/adhd can be treated and controlled with rx medications and coping strategies, yet people seem so gung ho about using excessive amounts of caffeine and energy drinks..ahh well.

I am sorry, because I use to post on this site all the time because I couldn't understand what i read. I figured out what it was, and it was A.D.D. I drank coffee today and all of a sudden I was able to read 50 pages of history text in less than 2 hours and get 100%... Without coffee it would take me 6-7 hours to study and still not get an A. Today was the first time I was able to concentrate! I can imagine what the A.D.D medicine will do!
I actually felt normal like the majority of the students to be able to focus and study without moving around! Thanks guys for the support and now I am ready to cope with this and hopefully pass nursing school later on in life.
