Definitely follow up, I think it might just be the time period. They're probably scrambling to get a lot of us in at a time.
Hi, I’m going to be a new grad nurse in Spring 2023 and I am looking to apply to the ED and Critical Care fellowships at North Shore. How long are the fellowships? Also, does the system have the ability to cut a fellowship short for a nurse? I keep hearing about orientation being cut short and it makes me nervous, but I’m not sure if this is possible for fellowship nurses.
To my knowledge fellowship/orientation is only "cut short" if they feel you are ready to be on your own. Worst case scenario I would imagine is- they no longer have a preceptor available to teach you (which I think is rare). I'm not sure how long the fellowship is honestly, but you will be on the floor even during the fellowship.

Keep calling to follow up... I believe start date is 10/24 and you need a few weeks for onboarding to clear

this is the OR at North Shore Manhasset! Also I spoke with the recruiter yesterday and she said they had some system updating that had delayed the offer letters and position creation in the computer for the whole hospital. so any other manhasset people may be in the same boat!

did they mention how many weeks is the fellowship, when you will be on your own etc?

It is long… I think this program is the best way to enter critical care though every hospital should have this for ICU in my opinion
