The Northwell Fellowship programs offer new nurses a strong foundation and clinical experiences to develop competency in a given specialty.

Northwell Fellowship Application Requirements

  • Resume/Curriculum vitae
  • Personal statement
  • Copy of medical diploma, as well as any graduate school diplomas
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Official medical school transcript
  • Official test transcripts for all applicable examinations
    • USMLE, LMCC, COMLEX, NBOME, FMGEMS, FLEX or NBME.
  • INTERNATIONAL: ECFMG certificate for applicants who graduated from a medical school outside the United States or Canada
  • Copy of completion certificate for prior residency or fellowship training programs

How long is the Northwell Fellowship program?

The fellowship is a 12-month program with one-to-one mentoring. The program is rotation-based. Each fellow will be assigned to work at multiple sites (tertiary, community hospital and corporate) throughout the system.

How long is each rotation?

A rotation lasts for 12 weeks.

Heyy, did you hear anything back yet? I applied for both ED & OR at LIJMC. I did my on demand interview for ED, & have been waiting to schedule a phone call with the OR recruiter. Hopefully we can get this thread jumpstarted with more applicants.

From what I’ve seen in past forums we are considered to be early applicants. I’ll update if I move forward in the process at all. Which fellowship(s) did you apply for?

I don’t think there is a set timeline, but I’d assume everything should be finalized by the ending of September since this is for October.  how far have you gotten in the process?

@rookienursern I don't know what campus you applied for but I applied fro Lenox CC and operating room. operating room called me back mid august but they saw that I was applying to CC positions so they figured I was more interested in that. I asked when we should hear back from CC and she said they are still figuring out how many positions will be opened for each and we should be able to hear back by mid to late September.

I wish they were quicker in their hiring process because I have another offer... I assume they will be finalizing hiring by the end of September because onboarding process takes a few weeks... last fellowship they started their first day July 29th... so let's assume tentative start date Oct 29?... I think they will start interviewing/hiring in September.

I totally agree. I have another offer and I think I am going to just go with that one because this is taking too long. It's annoying.

for someone whoo passed in July, waiting till late october is too much for me
