Hello,

I decided to make a thread for everyone who's applied to Northwell's April 2022 fellowships. I applied to all of the April 2022 ED fellowships.

Hi following! I applied to the April 2022 critical care and oncology fellowships

Thanks for making this! I’m wondering if anyone has heard anything back yet from any hospitals? Specifically for the ED fellowships.

Hi! I applied to all of the oncology fellowships and I actually just got my offer letter from LIJ! Sooo happy, I really thought it was a long shot that I heard back at all

I know a few people who were asked to complete the on-demand video interview (1st step interview recorded via webcam) for ED and Critical Care who were contacted within the last week. I heard back about 2-3 weeks ago and I was the first person to have heard back out of all the people I know who applied to fellowships (also the only person to apply for onc) …so don’t get nervous!

I think it’s still early! In previous threads I saw that they were still interviewing in late march for the April fellowship.

Good luck to you guys ? lmk if you have any questions about the app process!

That's awesome! Very exciting, congrats!! How long was it in between your application vs you hearing back? I just submitted mine 2 days ago, so not surprised I haven't heard anything yet! haha but just curious!

If I happen to get an interview for the oncology one I might have a few questions for you about how to best prepare for it!

Thank you so much! It was about a week and a half between applying and receiving a call.

At first I was asked to complete a video interview (no one on the other end, you record yourself answering one question at a time — only have the option to record each answer once, but you have the opportunity to take your time and practice your answer before pressing record). A few hours after submitting the video interview, I was called back for an in person interview.

My recruiter said that she didn’t have confirmation regarding whether or not North Shore Manhasset was actually going to go through with the April Fellowship, so she set me up with the interview at LIJ.

Best of luck!! I think this process is vastly different for everyone depending on which specialties they applied for, which hospitals, and which recruiter is working with them.

Hopefully we’ll be working together soon ?

@Curlynursern Congrats! I am very happy for you. Are you a new grad or do you have some experience?

@mrg-BSN-RN You're welcome! I heard back from LIJ about three weeks ago. They sent me a link to submit an on-demand video interview, which is just answering questions on video and submitting them. I submitted it the day after I received the link. I haven't heard anything back yet.

@CN101 Thank you! I’m a new grad, but I did have Northwell externship experience (for Flexstaff- not a particular hospital)

I hope you hear back soon!

I applied to all ED fellowships posted and  heard back from LIJ in new hyde park about 2 weeks ago. I’m curious if anyone has heard anything from South Shore?

I applied to both emergency and critical care at all locations. Does anyone know if I'm allowed to be in the applicant pool for both or just one fellowship?

@_allnurse I’m not 100% sure, all I can say is that when they ask you to complete your video interview, one of the questions is “which one specialty do you choose and why”. So I think it’s possible you may have to narrow it down yourself. You should be able to talk to a recruiter to clarify before then though! Good luck !!

@Curlynursern Thanks! I got an invite to the emergency on-demand, but my top choice is critical care so I emailed the recruiter to see if I should put my top choice or stick with emergency. I haven't heard a thing from the critical care positions ?
