Northwell Health RN Fellowship April 2022

Nurses Residency

Published

Hello,

I decided to make a thread for everyone who's applied to Northwell's April 2022 fellowships. I applied to all of the April 2022 ED fellowships.

@mrg-BSN-RNThat's amazing! I'm so glad to hear that and I wish you the best of luck! I unfortunately did not enjoy my interview with Northwell ED. Compared to other interviews at different hospitals, the managers and educators by far had the worst energy I have ever experienced in a hospital, so I recused myself of the position immediately after. I ended up taking a position at my dream hospital anyway.

But for people still interviewing, YOU ARE INTERVIEWING THEM AS MUCH AS THEY ARE INTERVIEWING YOU. If management does not fit you and your needs, it may not be worth the position.

I have my critical care interview tomorrow! excited but nervous. anyone know about the interviews?! any clinical scenario questions? im a new grad and its my first interview for such a thing, so im nervous that they'll ask me a random question that I don't know the answer to!! sos!  best of luck everyone!

Congrats and good luck! The interview style depends entirely on the specific management of the unit interviewing you. I interviewed for a med/surg oncology floor and got like 5 clinical questions, whereas people I know who interviewed with a PICU, CTICU, and ED unit didn’t get any clinical questions.

Don’t stress too much about the clinical questions… they’re pretty basic and they actually don't care too much if you get them “wrong” as long as your thought process makes sense. When in doubt if you rly don’t know “as a new nurse I would notify charge nurse/activate rapid response and monitor patient” LOL or something to that effect

All of this!! Every hospital has different energy. I luckily received an offer from my first course as well.

Go in with confidence. We are new nurses and they know that. For northwell I had no clinical questions, but for other ED interviews I did. And some questions I didn't know, but I knew something. So just say something close or related to it. Talk to them as if they are friends you haven't seen in a long time and be yourself.

Thank you! its for LIJMC in New hyde park/queens

best of luck to you too!

Had interview this morning, hoping it went OK?! There was about eight people interviewing me, all asked different questions, nothing crazy, just remain calm and be confident! Just asked me about myself and basically why I want to do this. Does anyone know how many people apply/get interviewed? Or how many people even get in?

I think the amount of people is all relative to the specialty, location and time of year. Which fellowship did you interview for ?
