Hi everyone, starting a forum to discuss updates about the hiring process for Northwell's August 2023 Fellowships. Just applied last week to NSUH and LIJ, haven't heard anything yet.

I just accepted an offer for SICU starting April. Do you have any idea of a schedule? They mentioned some type of classroom hours during phase 1 but didn't really go into detail.

Which hospital did you get this offer from if you don't mind me asking?

Congrats! That's an amazing fellowship they have there! Do you happen to already work within the system at North Shore or have prior experience in nursing? Or are you a new grad too?

I don't have any prior nursing experience other than clinicals throughout my nursing program

I actually had an in person interview for April although I applied to both.

Hi, I just got an invite for the on demand interview, what kind of questions did they ask and how long after did you hear about an in person interview? Any advice on how to answer the questions? I applied to the August critical care fellowship earlier this week

Your interview is for the April fellowship or the August one?

I am wondering about the style of questioning too.

I asked for august since EL told me the April one starts Monday and it's closed

I started the video I'll update when I finish, so far they asked about why you're interested in the specialty, a time you went above and beyond, a time there was an unhappy patient, a time you made a difficult decision, and what was your sickest patient diagnosis and interventions..

Thank you so much, and best of luck as you continue the video! Let me know how it goes! It sounds like you film each question one by one? I'm assuming once you record the answer to one you cannot go back.

the first question you can re-record as much as you want. first question is just to introduce yourself. the rest you only have one take allowed but you can take however long you need to answer as long as you submit the whole thing in 48 hrs.

Thank you! Is there a time limit for each response, do we get cut off if we speak too long?

You can take as much time to practice before hitting record so I would try to time my responses because once you hit record, you only have a 3 minute limit before it stops recording for you. If your answer is shorter you can click when to stop but there's only one chance. I answered the first 4 questions last night and took a break, gonna finish in a little bit (you have 48 hours to submit everything once you start answering the questions)
