Hi everyone, starting a forum to discuss updates about the hiring process for Northwell's August 2023 Fellowships. Just applied last week to NSUH and LIJ, haven't heard anything yet.

How long till after the in person interview did it take to hear back?

I actually had an in person interview for April although I applied to both.

hi, wanted to pop in and reply. I applied for the April 2023 onc fellowship at lijmc and got an on demand interview which I completed on Tuesday night. from reading other threads it seems like they post openings months in advance and don't start reviewing apps until closer to the start month.

what fellowship did you apply to?

Where you called in for an impersonal interview?

yeah, I had the in-person. I got an update about a week after the in-person that I was getting an offer. I got an offer & will be joining the April cohort.

Can you give insight into how the interview went? What type of questions to expect?

Most of the questions are similar if not the same as the on-demand interview. They asked why they should chose you for the fellowship, a time you went above and beyond. Pretty much same questions as the on-demand interview

Were the august job postings removed?? They are no longer online and when I check my application status it says the job is no longer available...

hi, the status stayed on 'hiring manger review' for me even after the in-person interview. they're probably just reviewing their notes regarding your in-person interview & connecting with HR on next steps!

also, I have a few friends that have also interviewed in-person for northwell fellowships & so far I'm hearing that the questions vary depending on the unit. for example, I had a clinical question but my friends did not. I had standard qs like strengths & weaknesses, tell me about yourself, why this speciality, where do I see myself in 5 years.. etc etc. my clinical question was not something specialty related & was simple stuff that we're expected to know after nursing school/the NCLEX. this could be because I'm a new grad as well.

q basically provided me with patient background/med hx and then asked me what I would do if they presented with whatever symptoms. they asked me what I think it is and what my next steps would be!

I just accepted an offer for SICU starting April. Do you have any idea of a schedule? They mentioned some type of classroom hours during phase 1 but didn't really go into detail.

congratulations!

I think the schedules vary depending on the fellowship so I don't know. I don't have my hours for my particular fellowship and I'm still waiting on them to upload the orientation schedule :')
