July 20 to September 20
We are still waiting on the final word for the ATI TEAS exam. Check our website for an update on July 17.
Ranking criteria are listed on the information session(
and in the nursing brochure (https://www.nvcc.edu/academics/divisions/nursing/_docs/nsg-brochure.pdf) ) Please carefully review these documents and follow all steps to submit a complete application.
That question is hard to answer. Ultimately it all depends on the applications received, how many of them have A”s in bio 141/Pysch230 and have many Coreqs they have, and the people that don’t accept there spot. I will tell you this I have spoken to at least 20 people who got accepted, and out of those 20, 5 had 3/4 Coreqs. So you definitely have a chance! This is a very anxious process for us all! Also I got some inside information that having A”s in bio 141 and 142 is a really good look. Along with the A in Pysch230 and as many Coreqs as possible.

I have As in PSY and BIO 141 and currently 3 co-reqs completed. I am hoping this will be enough to get me in, but I'm not hopeful. I am taking the 4th co-req now in the Fall so I don’t want to sit out a semester without any classes to take. Can we start taking BSN level classes at NOVA that will transfer to say, GMU?
Yes, GMU has an extensive list of pre reqs if you want to apply to their BSN program. I did not apply due to Mason factoring classes that have been retaken due to GPA, but if you did well in the pre reqs the first time I say go for it.
If you have applied and were asked to provide your high school transcript, please do so ASAP. The proper way to provide that document when asked is via the Health Science and Nursing Applicaiton. Click the Green "View Application Button" in the email that was sent to you and attach the requested documents. Having provided college transcripts or holding a degree does not exempt you from this requirement. Due to the large volume of applications questions regarding the "status" of your application won't be answered. You can see the status by clicking the "View Application Button" in your original confirmation email.
I am worried about 800+ plus applicants.
I felt safe because I have a perfect application, I have an A in Bio141 and Psy 230, and all 4 coreqs completed. But I am worried how many of those 800 had the same application as me as me. For the 80-100 slots open, how will they decide if more applicants than slots open get all A's and have all coreqs done,
I got rejected last semester, so I retook classes and I am sure I am not the only one.
I know there are a lot of applicants, but it is insane it takes so long for the school to make a decision. After all we are being ranked on 2 criteria and 4 coreqs, you would think a computer program could do that with ease. Even with 800 applicants a computer program could easily rank them in order based on grades.
Guys what can we do, I know 800 plus applications is kind of degrading, but we all can only do our best! Who knows maybe 600 of them are weak applications we don’t know, there’s enough stress in this world let’s not get discouraged. Do your best! Stay busy taking classes that you will need later on, and be hopeful but also prepared for all outcomes. I was really stressed but now I think about I’m eventually going to get this goal done! Just have to be patient and do my best! It will eventually pay off! Good luck to you all

What are your grades in bio 142? And do you know anyone who got accepted with both A”s and only 3 Coreqs completed?
