Northern Arizona University Fall 2017

Published

Hello! Im hoping to connect with NAU BSN applicants for this upcoming fall. Feel free to share what campus you're applying for and any of your stats if you would like...

Looking forward to hearing from you, THANKS :)

Hello Maddy! I will be graduating from the Flagstaff program this May, so if you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them! :)

Hi Maddy!! Planning on getting my CEP app in for NAU (and FP) in May...but I will still have one pending course (BIO 205). I am trying to stay positive that the pending coursework won't hamper my admission status!! I am putting in for Mesa (am and pm), CGCC, Scottsdale, and Phoenix, but may add Gateway to the list. Sending good vibes your way!!!

Hi Maddy. I will be doing the NAU/GWCC traditional cohort, with BSN classes starting in June and RN in the fall. Where will you be attending your classes in the fall? @Tay_Lynne, which college do you do the RN program at? I would love to get tips and advice. I know I want to form/join a study group. I am mostly curious about work and school, I.e. How many hours is doable. I know it really depends on circumstances and personal preference. I currently work full time as an event planner. I have a family with a 2 yr old and 17 yr old so I'm already busy. I am getting my CNA licensure soon and want to quit current job to work as a CNA to get my foot in the door. It seems tough finding a part time CNA job. I may try to get hired by Honor Health full time in the summer then go down to part time in the fall. Just so many unknowns at this point.

Hi guys!

I am applying to NAU's Tucson campus for classes starting in Fall 2017! I chose Tucson campus as my #1 choice, with Flagstaff campus as my second. Is there anyone else applying to Tucson? I'd love to meet people applying, or anyone currently in the program, as I don't know anyone! :)

Sarah,

i applied to the Tucson campus as my only choice! I am so excited to meet someone else who applied and so anxious to hear the admission results! Do you live In Tucson now? Do you mind sharing your gpa and kaplan score? Have you applied before?

Hey Friends!

I'm applying for the Flagstaff program for fall 2017! Do you guys know what GPAs + Kaplan scores people have gotten in with for this semester too?

When I looked through the forum for people who applied last semester it seems that above an 80 kaplan and 3.5 gpa was competitive. The Tucson nursing director says average for admissions is an 89 kaplan and 3.8 gpa but idk how many semesters that statistic is gathered from. What stats did you apply with??

Hello @pgeorge217, I did my program at NAU's Flagstaff Mountain Traditional Program. I went straight from high school to NAU's main campus for my BSN, as well as working up to 4 jobs at once to help pay for any expenses (Flagstaff's cost of living is super high!). I worked an average of 25 hours a week along with school and it was a tough balance for sure (single, no children)!

Let me know if you have any other questions!

I applied last semester but didn't get in - I hadn't studied for the Kaplan at all (bad idea)! The first time I took it I scored in the low 70's, and so I retook it and got an 86 overall with a 75 in the science portion. I have a 4.0 GPA, which I'm hoping will help a bit. I actually live about an hour south of Tucson, so I'm pretty close by!

Also, I knew a girl who applied last fall and got into the Flagstaff campus program this semester. She scored an 88 overall on the Kaplan with a 75 in the science portion, and had a 3.8 GPA. Hopefully that helps anyone looking for stats on those who got in the program already!

Hi All,

I am crossing my fingers on getting into the Flagstaff program. I didn't get into the Accelerated program, but the way the pre-reqs are calculated in the Traditional Program works better for me. I am from out of state too, which probably counts against me...hopefully not too much.

I'm nervous about not only the gpa portion, but also how they look at schools that are on the quarter system with calculating GPA's and credits. I have a cumulative 3.4, Kaplan 89. Science was not my best...I think I got a 73? I think I got a perfect score in the math, with reading and writing right up there. I have a pre-req gpa if I am calculating things correctly of about a 3.72. I so would love to go to NAU. I want to be a FNP in Rural Health and NAU is amazing for rural health!

Hi Tay!

I have a question for you?? How did you find the environment at NAU in terms of being a supportive community with the teachers, advisors, and students? Thank you so much for taking the time to answer questions!
