Legacy Residency February 21
Also, Providence told me they don’t ~usually~ have positions available for new grads in specialty areas like peds, just a heads up. I applied with peds/babies for all my choices and I got set up for an interview...only to learn it was for their med surg units only! Haha. But it’s always possible they’re needing peds, so totally go for it. Seattle Children’s also has a new grad residency, just like Multicare does. My advice would be to work a unit you genuinely want to. Right now I’m working med-surg and I’ve considered quitting probably at least once a week. ?

I really wish they would be honest and open about the positions available. I would check my application status neurotically, always anxious to know if there was a chance. Which there clearly wasn’t, lmao. I think the best way to get a job either at OHSU or legacy is to already work there.

Legacy Residency February 21
I did not get into the residency program, but honestly I think it was for the best. Legacy’s communication about the application was absolutely terrible. I emailed multiple times, all with genuine concerns, and was never given any info besides the run of the mill type of answers already posted on their FAQ page. I asked if they knew what units were hiring, and was told they did not know, despite it being months past the application deadline. It would’ve saved me a lot of anxiety to know the units I applied for were not hiring, and I could’ve closed that book with no headache. But no, I was told to just “keep checking your email for any updates”, to which there were absolutely no updates. I asked if managers were reaching out yet as it was about a month before the program started, and was told they still had time to reach out if interested. How can an employer just let candidates wait roughly 3 months to hear if they’re even a potential candidate? It gives applicants no way to make plans surrounding getting a new job (relocating), or NOT getting it (applying elsewhere). Eventually I knew I didn’t get it, which is totally fine, but the lack of honesty and open communication really set a bad tone. I’ve had other recruiters do everything possible to make potential employees feel welcome, and Legacy did the opposite. Eventually I reached out to their general recruiters and asked if they had any residencies specifically for pediatrics, and was told (by the same recruiter for the residency program, LOL) that Legacy generally does not hire external candidates into specialty positions. So, that was that. For what it’s worth, I managed to interview for a regular, non-residency position with Legacy and even then, it was not a warm experience. I recently was accepted into Multicares Residency program in Washington as a NICU nurse, so in the end things worked out, but good Lord was Legacy’s process just a nightmare. I genuinely hope your experience is better than mine was. Providence is awesome with their communication process, so apply there too! Have a back up plan, just in case. Things always work out ? Best of luck!

Nope. Starting to just lose hope. But also just frustrated with their process.

Legacy RN Residency Summer 2020
Yeah that’s fair, I just wish the process wasn’t so vague. There’s no updates or any information about which units are even hiring, so it just feels like waiting around.

Legacy RN Residency Summer 2020
Do you mean they said they will be starting to call for interviews in January? The email said Mid-Nov to mid-Jan, but I feel like January is so late since the program starts in February. Also does anyone know which units will be hiring for this cohort? I want to email them again but I feel like I’ve probably bugged them enough ?

Legacy RN Residency Summer 2020

Legacy Health New Grad RN residency program Feb 2021
Hi guys! I wanted to start a thread in the hopes of hearing from other new grads who applied to Legacy Health’s new grad RN program for Feb 2021! Has anyone heard anything besides the generic email sent about a month ago stating applications are being stored and if selected for an interview, they will let you know anytime between mid-Nov and mid-Jan? The waiting is killing me and I’m wondering if anyone has been contacted for an interview.

Hi! I applied as well, still haven’t heard anything. Anxiously checking my application status multiple times a day, however. Hopefully we hear something soon! What units did you guys apply for? I put NICU/PICU as my first, then general acute peds, then L&D.

Northern Arizona University Fall 2017
I just got my email as well - I got into the Tucson campus! So excited to start the program and meet everyone!

Northern Arizona University Fall 2017
I hope we get in too, I'm so nervous! I know the deadline is tomorrow but that just means we have to wait 4-6 weeks to find out the results. I wish we had more stats about the Tucson program. I haven't met anyone applying for that campus, and I'm not sure what the Tucson average scores were for last semester's applicants.

Northern Arizona University Fall 2017
I applied last semester but didn't get in - I hadn't studied for the Kaplan at all (bad idea)! The first time I took it I scored in the low 70's, and so I retook it and got an 86 overall with a 75 in the science portion. I have a 4.0 GPA, which I'm hoping will help a bit. I actually live about an hour south of Tucson, so I'm pretty close by! Also, I knew a girl who applied last fall and got into the Flagstaff campus program this semester. She scored an 88 overall on the Kaplan with a 75 in the science portion, and had a 3.8 GPA. Hopefully that helps anyone looking for stats on those who got in the program already!

Northern Arizona University Fall 2017
Hi guys! I am applying to NAU's Tucson campus for classes starting in Fall 2017! I chose Tucson campus as my #1 choice, with Flagstaff campus as my second. Is there anyone else applying to Tucson? I'd love to meet people applying, or anyone currently in the program, as I don't know anyone! :)
